acooling08 Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I along with everyone else is sickened and depressed by our agonising draw against Boro today but if you look at the table we have in fact gained a point on the play offs. (We were 5 off, now 4). We played pretty well today except for some poor defending. Burnely is now the make or break. But for now, the play offs remain a possibility. If we can tighten up at the back, and the Yak-Kam partnership performs like today then we will be there or there abouts at the end of the season.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 We arent going to make the PO's with the defence the way it is. Its dreadful.
Charl91 Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I think we'd be fooling ourselves to think it's not over
cairnsy Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 It will be 7 points with readings game in hand, so being a realist I don't think we can make it
Ambitious Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I wish we were mathematically unable to get in the play offs now, then we could all just focus on next season. The fact there is still a slight chance and we're not performing is just pissing me off.
blue army 1988 Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 We have to win against Burnley imo else it is 100% all over
cc_star Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 It doesn't matter what others do, we were chasing a set number of wins to achieve the average number of points for the playoffs - therefore we dropped 2 today with Forest, Burnley & Hull all losing Sven's agreement with Chelsea to play Bruma is sickening The way Vitor was dropped was appalling Bruma may be OK in the future, he looks like he really could be - but for us he's a fookin liability, or Sven's agreement is.
FrankieADZ Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I honestly cant see us getting in the play off's with the way Reading are going i think they'll be in there.....hope to god im wrong.

They're in the playoffs, the position we want and we face them at the Madjeski. But then again, we need to win all of our games! Burnely is also massive, and our bogey team
RizLCFC Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I've been posting on here trying to feel positive after our last 6/7 poor results, but today it's ended we don't deserve to finish in a play off spot, when our defence holds out the attack can't find the target and when the attack scores the defence is shit. Bruma you ****ing twat!
Ambitious Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 We have to win against Burnley imo else it is 100% all over Yea and history is against us there as well as the fact their a good side, battling for the same place and have a very good manager in Eddie Howe, we haven't beaten Burnley at Home since 1995 in the League Cup, we haven't beaten them in the league at home since 1978!
Joe. Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Reading's game in hand is against Preston at home on Tuesday. There's always a glimmer of hope considering they beat Swansea today, but I think it may all be over for good soon enough. Huge opportunity blown today, genuinely gutted.
body102 Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 When o'neill came we wouldn't have dreamed of making the playoffs , but it went to the last game against watford and we still had to rely on other results going for us , which they did . What i am saying is its not over until its impossible . At least the possibility is still alive
Guest parky0607 Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I think it's still possible but we need something spectacular now, we went on a run at the start of the year where we won 6 and drew 1 out of 7 (or something along those lines) so theres no reason why we cant do it again. Prior to the boro game I was about 40% sure we could do it, now I'm more like 30%
acooling08 Posted 2 April 2011 Author Posted 2 April 2011 Sven needs to use common sense now and sort out the defence. Weale Naughton Bamba Mee Berner

Edmund Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Considering the way we started this season, I personally thought we were in for a relegation battle. If you look back at the season it's not been that bad although we've spent a shed load of cash. Give Sven and Faz a pre season and a chance to bring in some permanent players and I think we're certs for autos next season.
Webbo Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Burnley and Reading are must wins. If we win both those than we are still in with a shout.

Give Sven and Faz a pre season and a chance to bring in some permanent players and I think we're certs for autos next season. Given time I do thin kwe would have eventually improved under Sousa, and we certainly wouldnt have gone down. We've really pissed away cash under Sven, needlessly on players like Kamara and Bruma who both werent needed. I think we should have made the playoffs with the amount of money he has spent. Put it this way, if we would have given the money to a manager like Warnock or Davies, we would have made the PO's. Unliek them, you get the opinion with Sven that he doesnt know how to build a squad and what his best team actually is.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 It is over. It's been over since the Norwich game I have said the same thing. We cant get points agains the better teams in recent games, Norwich, Cardiff and QPR. They proved how poor we really are. We need 6 wins out of the last seven games, and we wont beat all the likes of Reading, Burnley, Forest, Watford and Ipswich.

Kitchandro Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 If you really think sven plays him because of the money agreement you must be off your rocker No I'd say it's a real possibility. Why else would he have been picked? Sven's iinterview said a lot when he was questionned about it, he almost didn't know what to say
m00nie Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 No I'd say it's a real possibility. Why else would he have been picked? Sven's iinterview said a lot when he was questionned about it, he almost didn't know what to say sven prefers him to vitor. Nothing else to it... if money was an issue the thais wouldn't be backing him as they are or investing in the club as they are. Sven already turned a player down who tried to hold us to ransom with his wages so why would he stand for it from a club?
ithuriel Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Its over, accept the fact the team is not good enough to get into the play off places this season.
