The Doctor Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 That sheep has got the same hat as Cherie Blair. i did find a picture of one in fish-net tights and high-heels... didn't realise camera technology had reached wales yet.
Jimmy Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 The drum CAN be good but I remember back in the League 1 season when I was in L1 some lads around me near Jobber were singing and it would be gathering more and more then Jobber would kill it dead with ring of fire or something else, it would happen quite a lot, the drum need to aid the atmosphere not control it
1964FOX Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Its not a good thing that the drum starts our chants off you know. And its got bugger all to do with being a sheep. Fans have thought it for yonks, and when opposing fans comment on it in a negative but constructive way then you cant ignore it So what do you suggest to do instead and what are you going to do to improve the atmosphere, as others have said very few are willing to try to start chants off and they are very limited as most don't know the words.
Guest Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 My only issue is that the kop can't get their chants in time with the frigging drum. I've said many times it's like an afternoon out with the rhythmically challenged

This is the biggest problem, too many people moan about the atmosphere but do nothing pro-active to sort it out. Yeah, they join in with a song, if someone else starts it, they'll jump around if someone else does it first. Just to make this clear I'm not saying this about anyone in particular just generally what I seem to hear from alot of Leicester fans. I'd bet a lot of people in the West stand moan about the atmosphere but sit there and moan about the team, shout at the ref. and slag off anyone standing up rather than do something about it, does my bloody knut.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 The drum should compliment chanting. not t'other way round. Sadly that drum in L1 is fecking massive (a snare or tom would do) and Jobber, top bloke as he is, can't play it for toffee anyway.

I've said many times it's like an afternoon out with the rhythmically challenged it's because sound travels slower than light. so we hear you singing maybe half a second after you've sung
Guest Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 it's because sound travels slower than light. so we hear you singing maybe half a second after you've sung I'm in the kop myself. I realise that sound travels slower than light but who takes the cue to join in a chant from a visual reference? There's a frigging metronome at points with the drum for crying out loud. Sorry rant over

The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 Brown fox- the atmosphere can be pants without the drum I agree. But until the drumming stops for good, then there cant be a transitional period where the fans grow up and realise you dont need a drum to support your team. For a few games it would be wank yeh, but hopefully after that itd improve, minus the drum. Who hates the England band? This is no different! As for doing something about it, well bar kicking a hole in the drum, and then starting off chants (which I do try to do anyway) theres not much else that can be done. The fans have got to want to get rid of the drum. Unfortunately too many see it as the only way to start a chant! Most of these are probably 14 though
lestajigs Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 It did fall silent a bit after 1-0 till Gally's screamer at times, due to nerves probably. But it was very loud 3-0 and up. This is true

Sorry rant over Well, there's exactly my point, we are in tune from where we're sitting at the kop, but when you hear us there's like a half a second delay. So then you think we're out of tune.
lcfc"weasel" Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 In the ideal world, a song'd go the whole way around the ground and it'd be starting an ending continuously.
