lcfc"weasel" Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 No, you're not right in thinking that. Fair enough, just what I heard at Derby and Cardiff away, must be a minority though.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Fair enough, just what I heard at Derby and Cardiff away, must be a minority though. heard it at derby also, followed by the guys trying to get it started shouting "join in then you fvcking cvnts". nice guy.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Our support isn't great compared to the old days but it's a lot better than most in our league. bravo. Can only think of Leeds with better away, ours isn't bad at all compared to some others at home.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 bravo. Can only think of Leeds with better away, ours isn't bad at all compared to some others at home. Coventry.
lcfc"weasel" Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 bravo. Can only think of Leeds with better away, ours isn't bad at all compared to some others at home. Millwall normally. Norwich were decent at our place an' all, considering it was a Tuesday night, nearly ruined it all with JCGE at the end though.

Ah yeah forgot Norwich, they were good but they're not usually great I dont think. Just Can't Get ENough has ruined the orginal song for me.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Coventry. Actually one of the better away sets in this division I reckon. Leeds and Milllllll probably top it, looks like Palace's away ends are massivley improved this season too.

Wymsey Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Atmosphere was more better when the Kop joined in with the songs too, not just the LE1 area imo.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 why? Because it shocking. We don't need a drum, and as said before that clapping thing jobber does when we get a free kick is embarassing. can't fans see that?
Fox92 Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Our home atmosphere isn't as good as our away atmosphere - like any club really. But, yesterday was good and I thought it was the best atmosphere at home for a few games now. Its a bit hard when its a new ground, compared to older grounds/smaller compressed grounds.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 All I can remember is that Alistair Campbell was very quiet.
Kitchandro Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Because it shocking. We don't need a drum, and as said before that clapping thing jobber does when we get a free kick is embarassing. can't fans see that? I'm afraid we do. The drum actually really lifts the atmosphere. I agree that clapping thing at free-kicks is a bit embarrassing but most of it I enjoy, especially the carnaval de Paris thing or whatever it's called. Keep drumming Jobber
ajthefox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 What I don't get is why this doesn't seem to have come up before. jobber has had that drum at the Walkers for as long as I remember being there, certainly for a good 4 or 5 seasons. Now a few moan about it, and all of a sudden half the ground are jumping on the "the drum is shit" bandwagon. What's changed?

We don't need a drum, and as said before that clapping thing jobber does when we get a free kick is embarassing. can't fans see that? I agree with the latter part. But, what are you doing to raise the atmosphere? I like the drum, better than that bell thing that Portsmouth's biggest fan uses.

iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 The biggest joke is people saying we don't want the drum because it doesn't help the atmosphere. It starts off the majority of the songs.. Unless people are going to sing without it, which rarely happens at the way, then dont bother moaning because its better than silence.

What's changed? maybe the exaggeration for a start... half the ground?? to be fair its not the first time the drum has come up and people have always said they dont like it so no bandwagons at all...
The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Its not a good thing that the drum starts our chants off you know. And its got bugger all to do with being a sheep. Fans have thought it for yonks, and when opposing fans comment on it in a negative but constructive way then you cant ignore it

Fans have thought it for yonks, and when opposing fans comment on it in a negative but constructive way then you cant ignore it some fans have thought it for "yonks" but on the whole kept quiet, the opponents comment on it and they end up mentioning their thoughts and all of a sudden more and more people start to critise the drums - either it's sheeping or a coincidence that so many people have reached the same conclusion shortly after each other.

It's been discussed and moaned at by plenty of people ever since it arrived but as it's something the club are keen on and actively support there's really little point in moaning about it, obviously when it gets raised as part of a general debate on all things surrounding the atmosphere at games it's bound to bring out a few moans. Personally can't stand it on principle and because jobbers crap at it but I wouldn't generally mention it because as I said there's no point.

Webbo Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 People criticise the club for lack of atmosphere and yet when the club try and do something about it the club are criticised again. They really can't win.
Brown Fox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Have you heard the ground when jobber isn't there?! QPR at home springs to mind last season when we won 4-0 and started our end of season run into the playoffs. Atmosphere should have been crazy but it was bloody silent. The drum may not be to everyones liking but without it we'd have shit all atmosphere.
