IanStringerBBC Ian Stringer

Some #lcfc breaking news at 6pm on 104.9fm in news bulletin (and Twitter a few mins later)

Anybody got any ideas what it could be? Although by the time anyone sees this it would have probably already been announced.

If I remember correctly the last time Stringer advertised 'Breaking news' it was something everybody knew anyway (about the owners I think) so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Aye, the breaking news is probably that we've got a game against Reading tomorrow.

:crylaugh:

Wouldn't surprise me if it was about King extending his contract, that would be nice. Would also be nice if he could top it off with the winning goal tomorrow please Mr. King.

Doesn't really make any difference, he still might leave in the summer.

After recent performances I'm not sure how I'd feel tbh...

He's been more good than bad this season and is only 22 as well as scoring double figures in his last 3 seasons. You'd really find it fine if he left just because he's not been on top form for the last couple of months? Think of the future and how good he'll be.

Well, depends how much we got for him, and if we could replace him.

I want him to stay really but he does need to develop his game if he's to be the figurehead of a title winning team next season.

To be honest, in my opinion, his future doesn't look that bright -- I can't see him making a good Premiership midfielder.

He lacks pace and he doesn't tackle enough for starters.

If someone offered £5million or more, we could get an equally good or even better player in. From seeing Forest on the tele, I like the look of Lewis McGugan, he seems to be all round. His footwork and close control is brilliant.

Neither does Gareth Barry but look where he is! He played well against Man City in both legs and it's just because when he's out of form he is useless but in form he's great. For example the amount of goal line clearances he made last season and the amount of goals he keeps scoring. Just because he's not got pace doesn't mean he's not prem!? Berbatov, Carroll, Barry, Kuyt, Van de Vaart, Crouch and I could go on and on. The fact he can finish anything in front of goal is better than being a yard quicker by far. Akinbyi springs to mind...

Gareth Barry is one of the most over-rated footballers this country has ever seen

Not the point, he's still a good(ish) without having the attributes mentioned for king. Same could be said about Scholes, no pace, can't tackle. Kingy will grow and he's been invaluable for us this season.
