Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 4-2-3-1 GK Fraser Forster from Newcastle United, currently on loan to Celtic. RB Kyle Naughton from Tottenham Hotspur, currently on loan to us. CB Simone Sini from AS Roma, currently on loan to Lecce. CB Michele Camporese from Fiorentina. LB Patrick van Aanholt from Chelsea, currently on loan to us. CM Michael Bradley from Borrussia Monchengladbach, currently on loan to Aston Villa. CM Tasos Lagos from Panathinaikos, currently on trial with us. RAM Cristian Tello from Barcelona. CAM Freddy Adu from Benfica, currently on loan to Caykur Rizespor. LAM Andrew Driver from Hearts. ST Nils Petersen from Energie Cottbus. This side would take us to the Premiership and beyond, shame I'm not on the board eh? Please tell me you aren't serious, if you are, then it's probably for the best you aren't on the board! There's a reason Freddy Adu has found himself playing in the Turkish second tier, he's been a victim of the hype surrounding him when he started out. In reality he's no good, in fact, he's garbage. Michael Bradley was one of the best central midfielders in the Bundelsiga not so long ago and was being touted by top clubs, we'd have no chance getting him. I do agree that a creative midfielder is needed though, and I think it's pretty clear that there are one or two gems on the continent that could be picked up for a fraction of the price of domestic players. Someone like Ivan Perisic from Brugge or Milan Badelj from Dinamo Zagreb would be perfect. Up front we need another solid target man (should Kamara sign on), a player like Garra Dembele from Levski Sofia would fit the bill. All the physical attributes to be a success at this level too. Thinking outside the box for a striker, Yasser Al-Qahtani has scored a shit load of goals for Saudi Arabia and Al-Hilal, and is currently the captain of both sides. He was due to sign for Sven's Man City side after a trial a few years ago but an agreement couldn't be reached. I'd love to get a team full of unconventional foreigners. Obviously ones with talent, mind.

Jackirius Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 GK Fraser Forster My link Had some absolute shockers for Norwich last season in League 1.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 Jesus wept. Some of our fans are nuts. Are you saying you wouldn't want the current Saudi Arabia captain, nicknamed 'The Sniper' leading the City attack? If so, you're dead to me.
sdb Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 GK - get Westwood or Sorensen (if at all possible). RB - Naughton CB - Vitor/Mee on loan again CB - Faye LB - Cunningham (loan) 4 centre mids keep Zippy winger required - not sure who??! ST - Kamara That's more the signings i'd make. Whatever.
Libertine Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 Are you saying you wouldn't want the current Saudi Arabia captain, nicknamed 'The Sniper' leading the City attack? If so, you're dead to me. I just don't know what to say to that.
Ambitious Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 Had some absolute shockers for Norwich last season in League 1. Doing well this season at Celtic though
BlooArmeh! Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 NEW GK Naughton Vitor Mee NEW LB Wellens King NEW CM - pace, power, runs the midfield Gallagher Kamara NEW ST Subs: Weale Hobbs Bamba Abe Vassell Dyer Waghorn This is a minimum of 3 new players required. Assuming Naughton and Vitor stay which, imo, is as likely as Mark Webber winning tomorrow's Chinese GP. Moussa? He's done well at Donny?

scinnell Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 As much as I dislike yakubu not getting onside I think he is the only player who can change a game in a minute and is deadly on the turn!
The Doctor Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Doing well this season at Celtic though In the SPL - Outside the old firm there is very little talent on the level he'd face at this level.
Jimmy Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 In the SPL - Outside the old firm there is very little talent on the level he'd face at this level. Bamba was seen as a complete joke in the SPL yet has been pretty damn good for us on the whole, Forster is also quite highly rated by Newcastle
Father Ted Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Fraser Forster (Carlo Nash/Conrad Logan) Kyle Naughton/Bradley Orr Ben Mee/Miguel Vitor/Jack Hobbs --- Daniel Majstorovic (Celtic)/Fitz Hall Paul Konchesky/Ricardo Gardner Lee Bowyer/Lee Cattermole/Richie Wellens/Michael Brown Paul Gallagher/Andy King/Diomansy Kamara Jimmy Kebe/Leon Osman/Milos Ninkovic (Dynamo Kyiv) Yakubu/Martyn Waghorn/Emile Heskey/James Vaughan/Jeff Schlupp. If I was given unlimited funds to start again, that would be my realistic squad to get us out of this division.

I agree with most of that but Paul Konchesky : has been shit for forest so far plus I don't rate him. Looks like an alien Fitz Hall : good physical defender just as we need but is injured all the time. QPR fans say he can hardly play 2 games a row Bradley Orr : decent defender but I think Sven wants a right back similar to Naughton. Plus he'll be playing prem football next season Leon Osman : that guy is quality and has only got his place back for Everton because he was injured for so long. There's no way he'd move down a level because he could probably play for a better team than Everton! Oh and also I'd have Vassell playing down the middle not on the wing!!!!
Guest parky0607 Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Don't know why so many people love Kebe, I've not thoroughly watched this guy but he should have put away 5 sitters against us, maybe he was having an off game but wouldnt want those sorta chances being missed if it was my team. I think my kind of realistic dream team would be Scott Loach Naughton Mee Hobbs Cunningham Gallagher King Wellens Shane Long Graham Taarabt Bench: Bamba Waghorn Abe Sinclair Gradel
The Doctor Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Are you saying you wouldn't want the current Saudi Arabia captain, nicknamed 'The Sniper' leading the City attack? If so, you're dead to me. no, a middle eastern bloke nicknamed "The Sniper" signing for a club in a city renowned for being culturally diverse - Daily Mail would go into overdrive if that ever happened.
norfolkfox222 Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 What id love to see..... Westwood Naughton Hobbs Bamba Cunningham Abe (all 3 playing like they did in Jan / Feb) King Wellens Gallagher Kebe (wont happen if Reading go up) Graham What i think/ fear it may be...
