sdb Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 A beautiful memory has come back to me for no logical reason at all, and i'm wondering if it's online somewhere... Guppy's sweet right footed curler at Stamford Bridge. The equaliser in a 2-2 draw iirc. Is it about anywhere? Was such a sexual strike.
peterborofox Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 There is a poor quality video of it on Youtube somewhere.
sdb Posted 19 April 2011 Author Posted 19 April 2011 ha, in my mind he was almost on the sideline and it curled about 90 degrees! Still a peach though.
FrankieADZ Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 ah the memories....still remember it...as it was a super sunday game on Sky. what a team that was back then
One Arm Babba Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 I remember it well. How could would a Guppy be for us right now!?!
CupidStunt Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 I have the whole game i think, Mikey54 is converting them all for me, so i can upload them at some point for all to share I remember a little girl behind the girl stamping her arms about when it went in,and her dad laughing at her
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 On his wrong side too. One-footed indeed.
Collymore Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 What about Elliott turning Desailly? Would love to see that again

The Doctor Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Is that a frank sinclair own goal for our first?
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 What a team back then, can't wait for a bunch of players like that again in city shirts. Does anyone think it'll happen?
Corky Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Sensational goal, one of several beauties he scored for us. Martin got tremendous value out of most of his signings.
Fosse Boy Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Truly the greatest of all time. I know I go on about him but it seriously is criminal he only won one England cap in an era when no one in the nation had a left foot.
MPH Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 I remember Guppy doing an interview at the time about how in training he had been working on cutting in from the left and shotting with his right because people only expect him to try and cross with his left.... and if i remember correctly i think he scored 2-3 goals in that style in the space of about ten games...... EDIT: hmmm... FA cup and birmingham spring to mind..... although i donbt remember the score..... i think it was 1999 too though....
red5 Posted 19 April 2011 Posted 19 April 2011 Truly the greatest of all time. I know I go on about him but it seriously is criminal he only won one England cap in an era when no one in the nation had a left foot. And they put him on the right wing
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 I looked it up and it looked like we had a good week an away win at Anfield on the Wednesday followed by this away draw at Stamford on the Sunday.
Apnoea Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 Think that's the best quality vid on youtube mate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsbl_-UIK14&feature=related Slightly better quality.....
