i was going to try and not look at foxestalk for the next two weeks, while i'm on holiday but i think i am going to have to log in at the hotel just to see how many pages this has got to.

On a serious note, Maynard without question is a cracking player with tons of ability and pace but i think we need to let this go now especially at the asking price(Grant holt scored nearly 20 goals last year for £500K nevermind £5/7 million), and set our sights on other targets who could fit along side Nugent at half the price such as Billy Sharp who i thought looked good against us last year but just played in a very poor team.

as bablyon says our midfield will chip in with a good number of goals, nugent will get into double figures and just need another striker to do the same Vassell may be we know from the England days he likes the big man/Small man partnership. Our main problem last year was defence not goals and Sven has done the business with the two horrible B******ds he hass signed we won't leak goals

Think We will just see alot of 0-0 draws next season, may just be a case of the mickey adams promotion year win 1-0 each week

anyway lots of luck with this thread i will keep tuned

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Bristol-City-refuse-to-sell-Nicky-Maynard-as-Leicester-see-third-bid-rejected-article762626.html

Bristol City owner Steve Lansdown is refusing to sell Nicky Maynard to a Championship rival.

Big-spending Leicester have seen a third bid of £4.75million for striker Maynard, 24, rejected by the Aston Gate club.

Maynard is in the last year of his contract and is stalling on signing a new deal despite being offered over £20,000-a-week to stay.

But the Robins appear willing to risk losing Maynard for nothing next summer rather than weaken their promotion prospects.

Definitely forget this now. Its been drawn out and we're going to pay a ridiculous price for a player with a year left on his contract. I didn't wank myself silly in the first place.

No doubt he's a quality player, but lets move on.

Cant blame Bristol for rejecting really, they have every right and fair play. Would we like to sell King to a championship rival for 5 mil?dont think so.

Bristol get average 14'000 gates, we get 23'000+ gates, not in an arrogant way but we are a bigger club

Couple more signings and i think our avergate gate could get up to the 28/29k mark, people are getting excited by what sven is doing

certainly with a good start and challenging for promotion towards the end of the season, without getting carried away our average will be at the very least 26 to 27'000

agree i think we could get into the 30K mark against west ham, birmingham, Forest and Deby (with a good start) which will even itself out out with the games gainst the likes of Bristol City lol:whistle:
