Thing is, I never had a thing against Bristol City before these lot - I think they're probably an outsider for the play-offs, but Blackpool proved that virtually anyone is an outsider, so what do I know.

I just cannot understand how they can't accept being smaller than us, stating we're bigger than them doesn't

make us Real Madrid, it makes us Leicester City, who are bigger than Bristol City.

Clap for this comment!

Sven called nicky last night and said "put in a transfer request or **** off" before hanging up

Source?

Why is there one article on 'News Now Leicester City' stating that we've had a 5 million pound bid accecpted for him this morning, surely they're bull sh**ing right?

Hope we can move on. Not worth more then 5m and while I disagree with those that say Bristol wont sell him, they wont sell unless we pay well over the odds by a fair few mill. As to the BCFC fans, nothing against your club*, but you seem to lack the drive to challenge for a place in the prem. If you're owner is a rich as you said, you should be buying quality players to compliment NM - there's not much point in keeping him if the rest of the squad isn't capable to challenge for promotion; if you fail to achieve anything then he leaves on a free next year, its money down the drain. I could be wrong though, I don't pay much attention to BCFC transfers.

*(apart from judging from your forum, half of your fans are stupidly racist - then again, we have our idiots too)

I've gone on a date this afternoon to Weathersooons at Stanstead airport. She's got a tash but claims to be a close friend of Svens

I hope we don't have fans like this that go on other clubs boards and make themselves, our club and our fans look like a bunch of numptys!

I take it you don't know THEBIGJOHNSTEADER? He's got some very good source's. Take a joke.

Well, it is the Sun isn't it.

As to the corn fields, there aint that many in an urban area of over a million. I believe Somerset may have such things though ! I had a laugh at the goon who said we are a more established championship club than LCFC, talking out of his arse I'm afraid and even if we were, it's not much to boast about is it.

Like others on here have said, let's get this over with one way or the other as it's getting a bit boring now. It's all been said on this board and ours, and now it's just becoming a big willy contest.

I'm sorry but £7 million for Maynard? Bothroyd wants £50-£60 grand a week?

This is getting stupid, and I for one want this saga to end. Do we have a scouting net-work at all ?

But that's exactly what you are JJS84, according to my sources

Nope...you missed the point !! 15 goals aged 20 in an average PNE Team ??????

Not much faith in the squad being assembled or Sven's expectations then eh ????

I have plenty of faith and expect us to purchase another quality striker who bangs in 20-25 goals and I trust in sven to get us promoted. I just think nugents role will be as the 2nd striker and therefore he will score less. don't forget he's had a tough few years since preston and was very much their first line of attack.

Ah constructive comment, well done, have a biscuit.

According to the Merc, we're considering Ched Evans as an alternative to Maynard ! Are they 'aving a larf' ?! Evans might be a good 3rd striker / squad player, but he's no first choice forward / Maynard.

Posted

Forget Evans his shit.

Evans as another option for Maynard is a joke, go for Maynard and keep going if no success move to other targets like Premier League strikers, Bothroyd or Sharp.

Ched Evans if he starts or signs I will have sleepless nights, looked a talent but not anymore.

Ball's in Maynard's court now. If he genuinely wants to stay at Bristol City and thinks he has a chance to achieve PL football with them, then he can sign a new contract there. The fact that he is yet to do so, however, would indicate he's looking for the 'right' move. Whether that's us, or whether that's another team, possibly in the PL, we don't know.

The only thing that's certain is that if that if he doesn't sign a new contract there very soon, they'll have to sell him - because missing out on £4m+ this time next year if he walks away on a free would be criminal for them, and they'll need the money reasonably soon so that they have time to re-invest it. As others have said, their owners have wealth but haven't really invested any of it in players - methinks this chimera of a 30,000 capacity stadium is too much on their mind.

At the end of the day, every player has his price, particularly at this level. If their valuation of him is higher than the £4.75m we've reportedly offered, then that's fine. But I don't think we should, and I don't think we will, offer any more than £5.5m for him. The owners at Bristol can shout 'not for sale' until they're blue in the face - the fact is that keeping hold of him for next season is no good for them unless he signs a contract extension.

The simple fact is that Bristol City will not be selling him until they have a striker lined up and willing to go to them. They'll hold out until they a.) get a higher fee & b.) they've spoken to and confirmed their new signing at least in principle

As much as I love Maynard, he isn't worth 5mill - and definitely not in the same class of player as Mills who we've signed - albeit they do play in different positions. I'd rather us go for some German striker for the same amount - as they might be adaptable to the Championship. Bet we can get a better player for that money than Maynard

That's hard to believe considering some of the rubbish spouted on here by SOME Leicester fans.

Also why do you think LCFC and it's fans are better placed to value NM than BCFC and our fans?

Because most of your fans seem to be slightly unhinged?
