anotherharboroughfox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 BCFC lost about £12m last year so yes we are in debt but fortunately for us we are in debt to the Mr Lansdown who owns the club. So although our we can't afford to continue losing £12m a year thanks to SL we are able to write off our debts each year. As for SL spending his money he's about to spend £92m of his own money building a new home for BCFC. That'll help get you into the PL...
bcfc1897 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 That'll help get you into the PL... It'll help, no doubt about that.
dayday Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Well he wants players that know the league and dont need time to settle So if we don't sign Maynard what are his alternatives? Because i am scratching my head trying to think. Saying that getting players to drop down to this level is probably Sven's biggest obstacle
Redski Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Believe that when I see it, Best of luck to you on that one. Just take the deal, it could buy you alot of seats, and quite a few pasty/hotdog outlets I doubt you will mate, i expect you'll be too busy winning the champions league.
Clazie Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I doubt you will mate, i expect you'll be too busy winning the champions league. Absolute genius!
Redski Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 That'll help get you into the PL... Just because you played league one in your new stadium doesn't make it the rule.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I doubt you will mate, i expect you'll be too busy winning the champions league. I should hope so, as your asking champions league players prices! Not out of the question
Blanesta Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Just because you played league one in your new stadium doesn't make it the rule. Average attendance 20,000+
Guest Bilo Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Just because you played league one in your new stadium doesn't make it the rule. Think he was making the point that a new stadium doesn't guarantee you promotion. In fact, most clubs tighten their belts after such a large initial outlay lest they end up like us in 2002. Even Arsenal have had to rein in their spending after the enormous expense of building the Emirates Stadium, and that on annual Champions League income. A new ground is a long-term investment but a short-term burden in many cases. Coventry are just one example of a club that built a stadium in the hope of Premiership football, found out they didn't have the fans to fill it and now the ground is actually a barrier to progress. The fact they have zero ownership of it, when they did own Highfield Road before it, means they're now actually further away from mounting a promotion challenge than at any time in the past 50 years and the club would be in shit if they went into administration as they have no assets. The only clubs I can think of that have benefited from new grounds in terms of the Championship are Hull and Reading, both of which had their grounds built by the council in the case of the former and a sugar daddy in the case of the latter and played in wholly inadequate grounds before that necessitated a new build.
Blanesta Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Back on topic, I think one more bid and that's it, there must be some lethal strikers out there worth half this money, even if its a season loan from a prem team, the money talked about for this lad given his recent history has IMO reached just about its limit, i'd certainly like him here but I don't think bc will budge, I just hope we have some exciting targets as alternatives
MPH Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 It'll help, no doubt about that. So you lost 12m last year and this is in the form of a debt to your chairman... is he just going to pay for the stadium and give it to you as a gift or, as i presume, that will also be a debt that will be owed to the chairman. that's huge.... over 100m debt owed to one man.... That's not actually a good thing at all..... if things go wrong and you have 100m split between 10 lenders that can be negotiated and, even God forbid administration comes deals can be struck, debts can be prioritized.... but when its all owed to one person then its a much thinner tightrope to walk....
RyanB89 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 arsenal big stadium but won fu*k all they've won alot compared to most...
MPH Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 arsenal big stadium but won fu*k all But one of the only clubs in the premier league to actually be making a profit. Its a very rosey future for them.
john doe Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 But one of the only clubs in the premier league to actually be making a profit. Its a very rosey future for them. agree but still won nothing there. also this crap about bcfc new ground is not true its on greenbelt and been refused . ashton gate to be sold to supermarket<sainsburys> yet they think they can bully the council in to selling greenbelt .dont know where those tatics came from
I am Rod Hull Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Keep him, Keep your Mr Maynard and good luck to you... I for one dont really care... Fed up of reading this topic...
Blanesta Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 arsenal big stadium but won fu*k all I think your point is expensive stadiums don't bring success, sorry if i'm wrong with that! if it is? Arsenal are probably a bad example considering their stature in the English game. plus with their gates they definitely needed their new one, I think they could move into a nou camp size stadium and fill it!
Carlos9 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Keep him, Keep your Mr Maynard and good luck to you... I for one dont really care... Fed up of reading this topic... I know the feeling! I have been checking up on this for days! I want him to come, but I'm fed up of the amount of crap I've had to read!
