The only other club interested in maynard is bristol themselves as i very much doubt a lower prem club would be willing to pay that kind of figure seeing as danny graham was sold for 3.5m, champ clubs wont pay that either

In that case shouldn't you be questioning Sven and your board?

Not really. If he scores goals that helps us go up, so will his value and the Prem money would more than make up for it. I imagine he would be on a 4 yr contract minimum so shouldn't lose his value, especially if he is as good as you guys think even if we didn't.

Wayne, I cam on here as I thought you lot might be interested? After all isn't this the 150th page or something stupid? I haven't come hear to gloat in fact the opposite, I very much doubt we'll see NM playing for BCFC again and as it stands LCFC are the only official bidders and as I said earlier a 4th bid looks likely to be accepted.

We should all know a lot more tomorrow, BCFC are away at Cheltenham and I will be amazed if NM is playing...

If he doesn't sign tomorrow I'm going to cut my balls off and shove them in my eye sockets just so I don't have to look at another 60 pages.

Some people on here seem desperate for petty arguments whenever someone from another club comes on, regardless of what they say. It's lame.

This made me chuckle :crylaugh:

Redski

i'm not having ago mate, but this must be getting frustraiting for the brizzle fans as it is for us lot, the fact is untill it is made official by either club, then we should just assume this is just another rumour! i think both sets of fans just need to know where MAYNARDS commitment lies! With us or brizzle fans that way you can move on and so can we! :dunno:

Agreed, whether redski turns out to be right or not he's only putting his penny in like everyone else,...and is welcome to!

Thanks guys never came on here to be a dick or on a wind up... I think most of us would agree that whatever happens NM could have dealt with the situation a bit better.

I still think he's waiting for a prem club, leaving us both in limbo in the meantime. Hopefully that should all change soon and we can move on to the next rumour.

Agreed

both sets of fans just want an end to this saga! that will benifit , you financially and us to hopfully get a good striker WHO WANTS TO PLAY FOR LCFC!

and you know this how

I don't it's just my opinion. However as it stands it's as credible as any other bollocks that has been posted in any of the 732 Maynard threads. We all need to chill out and wait to see what happens. We must trust Svens judgement afterall he is one of the biggest names in world football and we are sitting at a computer at 11.30 on a Monday night!!

Sorry I disagree! There seems to be a perception that all deals need to be done in the first week by many fans, which just isn't going to happen! I am sure there are plenty of big money moves still going to happen which in turn will then spark moves further down the value chain as well. So he might do well to hang on as he wants to do the best for himself; no different to if you were job hunting and got two job offers and your existing employer offered you more to stay- surely you would pick the best deal for you, which is probably what NM is doing! Personally I can't blame him for that!

The window is open for another 40 odd days, still plenty of transfers will go on before it shuts, NM might be one of them and maybe to Leicester, all we can do is wait and see!!

Well that doesn't help me move on...

IF Maynard was serious about joining us he surely would have "jumped ship" by now?

This has gone on long enough, lets face it he's never exactly set the world on fire and I for one think that the hype surrounding him has got a bit out of hand.

I like most others have no idea what is going on behind the scenes between NM, BCFC and US but one thing I do know is that whatever the outcome now I can only see disappointment, firstly for us (because he'll either sign up and won't live up to our expectations or won't come at all), secondly disappointment for Bristol City (because he decides to leave and join us which will make a nonsense of the statement of intent from their chairman or stays and regrets his decision has a poor season and then walks away on a free to a lowly prem side when his contract expires or disappointment for the player himself because after lot of time (and let's face it in the world of football this has gone on long enough) he makes the wrong decision and regrets it for the rest of his career. :dunno:

Cant believe were still after Maynard the guy is worth 2m max, 5m is just crazy for a player who has had one good season especially when we sold Fryatt who had a similar scoring record and age to Maynard for 1.2m.

Personally I can't believe people think what he's 'worth' means anything when you're trying to sign a player who isn't for sale & hasn't expressed a desire to leave

What he's 'worth' has feck all to do with the situation

As much as it pains me to say it, you're right. Always have to pay more if someone doesn't want to sell no matter what you're trying to buy. It then becomes about what he's worth to you rather than what he's worth on the open market.
