Guest Basildon Fox Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Cant believe were still after Maynard the guy is worth 2m max, 5m is just crazy for a player who has had one good season especially when we sold Fryatt who had a similar scoring record and age to Maynard for 1.2m. Do you honestly think that Matty Fryatt offers as much to a team as someone like Maynard? Maynard has pace for a start, doesn't seem to sulk when not treated like golden bollocks and Maynard can beat a man. I never disliked Fryatt but Maynard is by far the better player of the two.

No, just no! Maynard's and Fryatt's goalscoring level at Championship level is not even comparable! Fryatt was excellent at League 1 level, yes. At Championship level he's very average, and definitely wouldn't cut it when we get into the Prem.

I'm sure that virtually everyone here will have seen Fryatt play about 10 times more often than Maynard.

I doubt many people really know how good Maynard really is.....most of what people think is by hear say or opinion. If he was that good i would have thought at least one premiership team would of been interested in him.
