Heskey

A.I am not getting "all pissy" (whatever that is)

B.Heskey being a completely different sort of striker to Yakubu is not my opinion mate,it's a fact!!!

Heskey will bring other players in to the game and set up chances for goal scoring strikers, Yakubu is the goal scoring striker.

You are spot on re. Yak and Heskey. Totally different.

Well then you are clearly stupid!! You can honestly say that he wouldn't make an impact, his hold up play and ability to bring others into the game would be a massive asset to most teams in the prem let alone the championship!!!

Strikers are supposed to score right? If hold up play and bring others into the game is what you're after then we already have that!!! You need to research our team players' attributes, then come back to me.

We are missing an out and out goal scorer, 2 of them actually. Heskey does not suit this at all, he's only being linked because Eriksson knows him from England, common sense would not go amiss here.

Heskey and either Maynard or Yak would be awesome final additions to the squad. Emile is a phenomenal link up man bringing opportunities for others and could even play from the bench. We'd essentially be upgrading Steve Howard's role by 1000%. One of Yak or Maynard (I hope the latter) feeding off the room and opportunities he creates would cause mayhem at this level. Anybody who can't see that seriously has no knowledge of football.

Still can't see it happening though, saying all that!

You'r so right play him 442 or 433 on the left or as a support in 442.

Get in either Yak Maynard or blake Nuget as back up. We are going up

and if your old enough Smith scored sod all for us while playing with Linaker.

Let Heskey do the dog work and turn Yak Maynard or blake into a 25 or 30 striker.

Heskey will finish with double figures at this level.

100 goals plus for the season with a tight defence what more do you want.

Not old enough to see Smith and Linekar together at City although old enough to see them at Arsenal and Spurs (and remember it).

The only shame about Heskey is that he's been turned into a player who is used simply as a hold-up man.

A couple of days back I watched some highlights from his early days and he did so much more, running fast and direct down the wings and channels. Watching Sensini being subbed within 20mins for Argentina after Heskey had spent that time passing him at will was stunning and showed what his A-game was.

Houllier's insistence at making him stay in central areas worked initially - he scored 20+ in his first full season at Liverpool - and appeared to have made Heskey into a much more lethal player. However, he was only going to be second striker to Owen but gradually his game turned from facing forwards and running at defenders to facing back and simply holding up long balls and spreading wide as he moved around smaller clubs with less talented players. Those early goals dried up because of this approach also. His mini-resurgence at Villa under Houllier was due to getting the ball down and running again.

He still looks great when he does get the ball down and attack a back line and this us how he'd rip apart this division - still as second striker but a more aggresivey attack minded version of what he's become in the Prem.

A lot of people talking about who they would partner Heskey with, I would say all signs would indicate that we are playing 4-3-3 next year which would rule out heskey and Yak as they both can't play down the middle.

Heskey at this level would scare the shit out of teams, Sven has stated that he wants a wide man and a Striker.....with Heskey you are getting a player that can play both roles which is a added bonus, and i for one would love to see him back.

The problem I have with signing Heskey is he'll want a 3 year contract to see out is career. Once your beyond 30 if you take the step down to the championship then try to make that step up again (if were promoted) invaribley you struggle with the demands of the PL. There aint many 30+ players over the years to prove there fitness imo. Sheringham was one and prob Philips from Blackpool another, cant think any other GK aside. Get him 4 free with a years contract would be great. But theres more chance in going unbeaten next season than that.

Maybe a 2 year contract may suffice then he will retire

Saw Heskey on SSN against Walsall the other night.

He looked very sharp and would certainly be an asset for us in the Championship, as long as he stays fit.

If he helps get us up then its irrelevant what contract he has

Heskey's more versatile than people give him credit for. If we were to sign both Heskey and the Yak, you can stick Heskey on the left of the front 3 and Yakubu in the middle. Heskey used to play left wing in a 4-4-2 for us and England occasionally. I think he'd be great either on the left or in the middle of a front 3 with 3 central midfielders behind him.

If he helps us get promoted great just wouldnt want him on a long term contract thats all. No wonder Paintsil, aged 30, joined u on a 3 year deal.

That's called sarcasm. Subtle I know but still...

As subtle as an iron maiden.
