Remember Tudgay scoring a screamer against us when we lost to them a few seasons back. Lost 4-1/2.

How did we score half a goal? Sorry, had to be said :D

Hesky would be amazing but hes one of aston villas best forwards, imo we have no chance. i wish we could sign him though hes amazing and is a leicester lad.

If this bloke wasn't from Leicester, no one would be raving about him like some people are.

There, I said it.

totally agree just didnt have the balls to say it :)

Tbf the guy still does have a lot of talent

Maybe in the championship he could be quite

Profilic and definatley a return of assists

Could be key to going up.

'Maybe'

why??

take his leicester connection out the picture hes still a premiership and international player with bags of experience.

he would still be great in this league..

the fact its emile and he does have a leicester connection is an added bonus..

I am the only one that can't take this topic seriously? I do suspect a bit of Leicester bias going on, if he was from somewhere else like Coventry, you wouldn't give him a second thought.

I personally can't see him making an impact here.

To me he's similar to Yakubu but without the ability of scoring so many. And alright while he'll work harder, we can't afford to have someone in the middle (because he'd never work on either side) who isn't consistently scoring goals next season. I'd have him back alongside someone like Maynard in a 442, but I see no place for him in a 433.

This is my first post on this forum, so hello everyone.

Not so sure about this. He played left wing for us and England occasionally as a youngster. Granted, that was a long time ago, but I don't think it's out of the question for him to play on the wing, especially in a 4-3-3.

I know a lot of people see Emile as a bit of a joke, but I remember seeing him play for the reserves at Filbert St. before he broke into the first team and being sure we had a truly great player for the future. I for one would love to see him back here in a blue shirt before he retires. His wages might be high, but at this level, he'd still be well worth it I reckon.

Well then you are clearly stupid!! You can honestly say that he wouldn't make an impact, his hold up play and ability to bring others into the game would be a massive asset to most teams in the prem let alone the championship!!!

Apart from them both being big and black, I can't think of two more different players.

Do people on here actually watch football?!!

What I was getting at was that they're both strong Players who'll attract defenders and can hold up the ball.

I'd be more than happy for him to prove me wrong but I can't see it.

And don't get all pissy because someone has a different opinion to you.

A.I am not getting "all pissy" (whatever that is)

B.Heskey being a completely different sort of striker to Yakubu is not my opinion mate,it's a fact!!!

Heskey will bring other players in to the game and set up chances for goal scoring strikers, Yakubu is the goal scoring striker.

I think you will find that Heskey played many times for England for Sven on the left wing.

Personally I think he'd be fantastic for us, a very under-rated player he'd work great in partnership with Nugent.

If you don't know what pissy is, how can you say you're not it?

Lets agree to disagree, I have better things to do on a weekend than sit here and argue over opinions.

I would imagine studying the game of football is one of them!!!

That's par for the course with some people on this forum buddy!

We all have different opinions to which we are entitled to, but some folk seem to forget that.

We must also remember that some folk are never wrong!

Oh & by the way, I'd love to see Emile back at City!

is this not fairly obvious and something sven has said he is focusing on numerous times?

I was responding to those who believe Heskey to be the missing link. As much as I love the guy, he isn't the striker we need desperately.

A month ago when we hadn't signed anyone we were all getting worried and frustrated. We now have maybe the best defence in the league with good back up which was our priority.

The midfield looks decent enough and I am confident that our threat upfront will be razor sharp come Cov city.

And I can't see us needing to score 4 goals to win a game to many times so I for one am delighted with how things are going.
