Anyone know in which stand the majority of the Indian supporters would be in for the Edgbaston Test?

This is a Test, not a football match, Expect to see fans of both teams sitting side by side in most areas of the ground.

Yes I know, but I'm sure there's usually a part of the ground where a lot of them are grouped.

I can remember on Day5 of the Lord's test a few years ago there was a lot in the 3rd man/fine leg area.

Not in the Hollis if they have any sense :) You are in for serious "banter" this year after taking all your "number one and you wont win a test" shit for the last 3 months. lol You usually get a sizeable Indian crowd at the London grounds but it seems to get less and less as you go further north, I couldnt believe how many Indians were selling there tickets outside for face value from day 3 at Trent Bridge. I expect their will be a few for this test knocking about as well(I'm there day 3, 4 and 5 if it goes), if anyone fancies a beer give me a shout.

There isnt a specific area for anybody in tests in this country, even the barmy army only get a minor allocation in blocks 22 and 23 now......like someone said earlier, the atmosphere in the Hollis can get very raucous after tea, hope it doesnt have the same problems as last time I went with the heavy security and throwing 30-40 people for some very minor stuff. Great stand though, only the western terrace is better for atmosphere in England.

Dyou know how the Raglan Stand is? Wouldn't mind some friendly banter, but from the sounds of it, the Hollis sounds more than that.

Nah it's all friendly mate, the Hollis is just a bit kinkier as everyone in their is absolutely slaughtered by 4pm.

Raglan is fine, I'm in the West for that day next to it, good view. I'm in the Hollis on saturday.

I'm in the Hollis on Wednesday, section 25. 7 of us should be good banter by the sounds of it.

James Taylor currently 81not out in the 2nd Innings. He's surely got to be in with a chance of his Test Debut soon enough. Really hope he comes in against India in the 3rd test!

Very doubtful it'll be against India as Trott is almost certain to be fit.

Sehwag only made 8 against Northants today.

Sehwag is unfit, out of practice and has always struggled against the swinging ball.

When a batsman comes out to bat bookies open up an even book on above/under runs, Sehwag usually about 35/36 depending on batsman's ability.

Have a massive bet on the under, he wont be able to cope with Anderson and the new ball.

Taylor out for 98. Great effort. :appl:

Taylor 76 / 98

Bopara 19 / 25

I know, i've eluded to that in earlier posts.

Out of practice, fitness and facing the worlds best swing bowler isn't going to be easy.

Jesus H.....

:frantics:

They both have averages of over 50 (Bopara 51, Taylor 59) in First Class cricket since the start of July (I'm too lazy to go back further :D ), plus Bopara adds something with the ball (taking 2-22 against Leicestershire the other week if I remember correctly  ). It's not that ridiculous a decision really.

Agreed.. He`s in there for his bowling..

I just don`t think he`s consistent enough with the bat at test level..

"@VaughanCricket: Taylor has not scored a 100 this season in FC cricket.. Ave 31 .. Bopara has 3.. I would have been tempted to go with Bairstow though.."

Michael Vaughan's view on it, with stats better than kokopops' as well :P

I'd have gone Taylor, because he's better with the bat and I don't think we need Bopara to bowl with the attack we already have.

But I hope Ravi comes in and gets some runs.

lol

Cricinfo is classing Leics vs Sri Lanka A as a first class match when Taylor got 168*. HAVE THAT VAUGHAN.

We don't have Trott to throw a few down so I'm guessing that's a thought as well. Same as when Colly use to throw down a few cutters.

I have to admit I have a soft spot for Bopara, mainly because I really liked the way he turned down the IPL this year to concentrate on his batting in the county game (with the aim of getting into the test team).
