Blue Bob Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Looking for Steve McClarens Unbrella! Looking for Steve McClarens Umbrella! Looking for his pen so he can sign someone?
I am Rod Hull Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 I know of a Chief exec who's in Holland as we speak . "Finalising one or two things". Schmoke and a pancake....
STUHILL Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 We definitely need a winger and he had a good spell at QPR. Does worry me how many clubs have bought him and then been unimpressed. Really seems like there are very few players available in this window so I guess we are getting what we can and having to pay high just to beat our rivals. If he continues his form from last season then good but I'm not 100% on this one like many others. Only problem is, who else is there?
lestajigs Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Cannot see this being completed, if it's not done today!!!
Simmo86 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 I know of a Chief exec who's in Holland as we speak . "Finalising one or two things". Good job Newcastle haven't flown out to Holland yet then!
RedHux Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Good job Newcastle haven't flown out to Holland yet then! He's apparently talking to a left back too (whatever one of those is).
Simmo86 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 He's apparently talking to a left back too (whatever one of those is). Thought you'd invented a way of playing without one of those for the past 2 years?
RedHux Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 We have. It mostly involves clearing the cross after some right winger has walked past whoever's standing in.

The biggest knock on Routledge is that for all the good things he does 2 things stop him being a top line player. 1: his crossing is average and 2: He tends to be very selfish and does not pass enough when others are in a better position.
Shit_arse Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 The longer and longer this goes on the less linterest i think we'll have in him Yes it would be good to have him - but i'm not sure he really fits into Sven's plan A worth addition but I would have thought a Striker was main priority at the moment
Carlos9 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 The longer and longer this goes on the less linterest i think we'll have in him Yes it would be good to have him - but i'm not sure he really fits into Sven's plan A worth addition but I would have thought a Striker was main priority at the moment We need a striker and a winger IMO if Sven plans to change the formations around 4-3-3 & 4-4-2... If we get a first choice striker & winger then that would be the starting 11 sorted. Might just need some fringe players and get rid of some of the players! Routledge would be class for us if he did sign!
Dicko Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 I'd like to see Routledge here, but I just get the feeling that this won't happen. Hope i'm wrong. We do need a pacy winger though just to give us something different, and he would fit the bill. Failing that, i'm not sure what the other options are? I know someone has mentioned Jason Puncheon on here, he's pretty good, or maybe Jimmy Kebe? I was going to suggest Jobi McAnuff, but I think he's signed a new contract at Reading.

Happy Fox Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 FFS. Sign someone dammit. We will have some patience
Guest Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 FFS. Sign someone dammit. I imagine that we have signed more than any other team in the prem or football league. Maybe Sven has decided that Dyer fits the bill now that we have some attacking wing backs

I think we only need a stricker and that should be enough Striker
Guest Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 You should be ashamed of yourself for knowing that the sheep have signed anyone. My point stands though.
