BlueSi13 Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Lucky to get the draw, we played MUCH better second half but we have to improve immensely going forward if we are to stand any chance.
shailen Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Playing poorly and still managing to get a good result...sign of a good team?
skinnydipper Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Goal was handball! We're going to struggle to defend corners if we insist on playing midgets in central defence
Father Ted Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 I didn't watch it but what is Danny Rose doing in the team ahead of Albrighton and Sinclair and the same applies to Mancienne (who is complete gash) ahead of Muamba and Rodwell!

Good point, he certainly played like he was out of his depth along with Welbeck before he popped up with the goal.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 How did Danny Rose start ahead of Sinclair the other night on the left ?
THFC6061 Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 I thought Kyle Walker was excellent against Spain. I can see him becoming Tottenham's regular right back next season ahead of Alan Hutton, Vedran Corluka and Younes Kaboul. Of those three, I think Hutton will be the one Spurs let go this summer.
shen Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 OS Surprised nobody has started a thread on this, if anyone has a stream for tonight's match put it in here please. Bert started this one some time ago, although it's in the transfer talk forum. Apparently there is confusion about who will go through from group A if Denmark beat Iceland 2-0 and Belarus beat the Swiss 2-1. It would normally come down to coefficients from the two previous QUALIFYING competitions deciding whether Switzerland or Denmark would go through, but that would be odd as Denmark didn't have to qualify. So it would be the fair play ranking of the teams that would act as the tie breaker
Ashley Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 Spain & England wins would do nicely tonight for my bet

Isn't it usually Points > Goal Difference > Goals Scored > Head to Head?
shen Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 Surely Switzerland would go through because they beat Denmark 1-0? Isn't it usually Points > Goal Difference > Goals Scored > Head to Head? Yeah that's what I thought too, however the UEFA rules for ties in the final tournament are: a) number of points obtained in the matches between the teams in question; b) goal difference in the matches between the teams in question; c) number of goals scored in the matches between the teams in question (if more than two teams finish equal on points); d) goal difference in all the group matches; e) number of goals scored in all the group matches; f) coefficient from the qualifying competitions (only group stage matches) for the 2007-09 and 2009-11 UEFA European Under-21 Championship (total number of points obtained divided by the number of matches played); g) goal difference from the play-offs; h) average number of goals scored per play-off; i) fair play ranking (final tournament); j) drawing of lots. So they would be equal until c) where Belarus would be above the other two. Denmark and Switzerland would probably be equal all the way to at least i)

Let's just hope that DK beat Iceland and the Swiss beat Belarus. Problem solved
lcfcsnow Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 Thiago is unbelievably good, next big thing at Barca.
MC Prussian Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Spain still prevailed, though. Won 3-1 in the end, needed extra time. Belarus defended really well, but conceded the equalizer just before the end of regular stoppage time. Switzerland and the Czech Republic fighting out the other finalist. Still 0-0 at the moment. On a sidenote, which teams qualify for the 2012 Olympics automatically?
MC Prussian Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 And the final is... Switzerland vs. Spain!!! Well done to the young in red!! Beat a really nasty Czech side 1-0 after extra time. Switzerland did more for the game, had more chances, 58% possession. Now both Spain and Switzerland going London 2012... What an achievement.
