Alexikokopops Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 If we want to have the option of playing 4-4-2, rather than 4-4-3 constantly, then we need wingers. I'd rather we didn't play 4-4-3. 4-3-3 and a goalkeeper will do just fine.
LeeTheFox Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 the reason i say we don't need a new winger is because last season we had no problem in scoring goals, our problem was conceding them. We dont need out and out pace as we pass it well, however Vassell can get in behind defences and set goals up. I think we should make sure we have a good defence and someone to replace Yakubu eg Maynard. If we can do those things, I'm pretty sure we will not need a new winger. I can't remember people moaning much about our wing play last year, it may not be full of pace but it was effective, our full backs are where the pace is needed, Naughton was a key player in our team attacking wise last year, hopefully Peltier can do much the same. You guys might think im talkin utter shite but i think vassell is past it, hes decent but we could better! We need a winger or 2 imo!
Wortho Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 If we signed Whittingham would that mean that Gally would get fewer games? I know that Gally can play on the right but he doesn't seem as effect.

Huh? we need wingers whether we play 433 or 442 We never play with 3 strikers up front we play 1 striker and 2 wingers If we signed Whittingham would that mean that Gally would get fewer games? I know that Gally can play on the right but he doesn't seem as effect. Who knows whittingham can play on the right aswell though.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 He could be the man we are replacing Dyer with and if so would be a very decent signing.

A few days ago I said I would find out if there had been interest shown by us to get Peter Whittingham. An enquiry seems to have been made, nothing concrete - according to information from someone close to him ( very close ) of all the options muted, his preferences are 1 Norwich, 2 Stay at Cardiff, 3 Leicester. In other words if Cardiff wanted to sell him and Norwich didn't want him we would then be his preferred option above anyone else like Forest. But we ain't his preferred number one choice at the moment.

CloudFox Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 I remember when he was linked with a move to Spain. I'm sure he wouldn't mind the commute
MikeyT Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 SSN Cardiff manager Malky Mackay has insisted Peter Whittingham remains central to his plans following speculation over the midfielder's future.

MPH Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 No way!!! I hate that little f***. Cheating pr*** is what he is. so we, as a club, have never committed a foul? denied someone a goal scoring opportunity? won a game we shouldn't of due to whatever reasons? I dont like it... and it bugs me when people do stuff but its not really a reason not to sign someone....
Ajax Treesdown Posted 17 July 2011 Posted 17 July 2011 Ipswich have made a bid for Cardiff's Peter Whittingham #ITFC fourth_official
