NeilLCFC Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Does anyone know how much we've spent on players so far this summer?
NorthernFox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 A lot! I would estimate in the region of 10 mill in transfer fees so far...
psychonaut Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Does anyone know how much we've spent on players so far this summer? £8.5 million
jamiegoode Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 God knows but hopefully its all financially sorted, and why do most clubs undisclose the free involved?
B52 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 £8.5 million And divide it into three years if they pay in installments. I think all the new players signed a three yeare deal.
B52 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Mills signed 4 years Hmm, Maynard will sign a 5-7 years contract then.
ian the fox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 dont forget there is no "upper " limit on transfers so who cares !!!
Bezzanator89 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Eriksson has revealed the club's owners are not ready to end the club's spending spree and they are determined to land Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard.City are also understood to be preparing a fourth bid for Maynard, after having a third bid of £4m rejected on Wednesday. It is believed a £5m bid might be accepted by Bristol. That would take City's spending to close to £14 million this summer under their new Thai owners, chairman Vichai Raksriakskorn and his son, Aiyawatt, the vice-chairman of the club. Eriksson has already signed Lee Peltier (£750,000 rising to £1 million), Kasper Schmeichel (£1.25 million), Sean St Ledger (£1.25 million), and brought in free agents Neil Danns and David Nugent. Eriksson also said he was hopeful of signing defender Tsepo Masilela on loan, and bringing back former loanees Miguel Vitor and Ben Mee. He said the door was also open for former England and Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves if he wanted resurrect his career at City, although Eriksson has not spoken the player, who is a free agent. "The owners have not said enough is enough yet," said Eriksson.. "They are backing me and you can see exactly what the target is for the club. It is not just words when they say they want Premier League, they really want it. We all want it "Of course, that creates pressure on us all but we all know what it is all about, getting into the Premier League. "This is completely different to what I experienced at Notts County. It is the opposite and very good. "We probably need a couple more if it is possible, but they must be the right ones, otherwise there is no point because the numbers of players we have is too big. We may have to sell a few." Quoted from the Leicester Mercury, says it all really as an transfer update and spendng perspective.
Itsthejoeker Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Sven is a clever man, he won't run us into the ground with debts, I'm sure he understands the financial situation at our club.
Jordan Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Sven is a clever man, he won't run us into the ground with debts, I'm sure he understands the financial situation at our club. Sven's contract ends after this season.
shen Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 According to today's Merc £14 million That's including Maynard and all the add-ons
The Bear Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I read this morning that Wolves never even bid as much as £3m for Mills and that you got duped into a phoney bidding war over him by Reading
Soar Fox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I read this morning that Wolves never even bid as much as £3m for Mills and that you got duped into a phoney bidding war over him by Reading I'd rather have Mills over Berra & Stearman any day of the week,
The Bear Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Based on what? The fact he's played well for Reading so far? Stearman I might just agree with you but Berra has 60 Premier League games under his belt. Wishful thinking until you get up and he is actually tested in that environment.
