okie fox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Peter Taylor has to be the worst manager for wasting all the money we got for Heskey and Lennon.
Alan Young Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 McLintock inherited a team in decline. While out of his depth as a manager, I wouldn't say he was as appalling as Pleat, Taylor or Holloway. I would as well, he inherited a team with a lot of talented players, bought a load of rubbish and made it all a lot worse!
Kingy_85 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Ahhhh yesss......David Pleat.......the man who bought the useless squirt of a midfielder called Billy Davies !!!!!!!! Yes ... ex Forest & Derby Manager ....one and the same !!!!!!!!! He's a dead cert for this team believe me !!!!!!!!!!! WHY have I never known/been told that Billy Davies was once on our books ???? Although Wiki says he never played a game?
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 WHY have I never known/been told that Billy Davies was once on our books ???? Although Wiki says he never played a game? He definately did ......
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Junior Lewis, Josh Low,and Ade Akinbiyi have all got to be there! Oh and does anyone remember Kaebi, John Ashton and Harry Worley?
Cropwellfox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 He definately did ...... He played the first 4 or 5 games of the season before he decided he was homesick and pissed off back to scotland. Complete spanner 20+ years ago. Hasn't improved with age.....
Izzet is God Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Have to agree with Josh Low and Lee Marshall.....what about Danny Cadamarteri, Nathan Blake and Richard Cresswell just for forwards!
FoxDownSouth Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 god yes ikeme is god awful i dont care about pressman or logan, i actually feel bad for logan he gets alot of stick for being a 'crap keeper' but he just aint good enough for this level, and remember he beein with lcfc since he was a nipper but yeahhh Ikeme deffo gotta be there
theboxman1986 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Pressman Canero Keown Howey Curtis Wise Lewis Lee Marshall Blake Akinbadbuy Court thats my worst 11

Dames Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 My all time worst players XI from what i've seen in my time: Kevin Pressman (Bar one absolute wonder save against Gillingham, He was overweight and awful) John Curtis Wayne Brown (Decent at getting in the way but technically he was an awful awful player.) Martin Keown Alan Rodgers (A lot of effort but no ability) Momo Sylla (The amount of times this guy couldnt control a simple pass was unbelievable) Andy Johnson (Honestly the worst player i have ever seen.) Junior Lewis Lee Marshall Nathan Blake Ade Akinbiyi (I'm not sure he was an entirely awful player, just the step up was too much and he couldnt cope) Its sad that all of the players i've listed are from the post MON Era.. He did make some dodgy signings but even they were miles ahead of some of the shit we've had in the past 10 years.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 My dad always says the worst player he's ever seen play is a guy called Tommy English. Apparently he was the replacement for someone class as well. Melrose?
Fox92 Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Technically, Holloway should be manager. He lead the club somewhere it had never been before...
Zingari Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Technically, Holloway should be manager. He lead the club somewhere it had never been before... only because we sacked McLintock before he got the chance Frank was a fantastic player ( he'd get in my all time greats everytime ) but he was an awful manager who replaced some aging players with other aging players of less ability Holloway has proved to be a good manager both before and after his stint with us
Webbo Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 My dad always says the worst player he's ever seen play is a guy called Tommy English. Apparently he was the replacement for someone class as well. Melrose? Your dad is not wrong.

He wanted the club to increase his wages to cover the loss of income from the pub but they wouldn't.

Probably , my memory fails me a lot these days I was told recently that Bloomfield had resigned of his own free will too , but for some reason it's not how I remember it . ah well, age does this to us i suppose
ScoutMan Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Manager Verdicts: Bryan Hamilton - Likeable guy during tensure but that dont make you a good manager. In the end fans hated him. Relegated from div 1 sacked when bottom of div 2. Apart from Robbie James didnt buy too many awful players. Takes credit for signing Steve Walsh though. David Pleat - Not very likeable at all, had way too long in the job, events of Man City game 91 speak for itself - plane across Filbo Pleat Shipman out, Banner on South Stand Pleat were fed up of this no show weve all decided you must go...sacked when in bottom 3 div 2 maybe bottom? Wayne Clarke, Mike Hooper, Nick Cusack, Pat Gavin and Tony Spearing speaks for its self. Did sign Gary McAllister, Gary Mills and Steve Moran who were faviourties at Filbo. Mark McGhee - Not liked by the fans for walking out and his statement about wolves 'bigger club'. Did buy decent players though. Robins, Taylor, Kaamark, Lawrence, Corica, Parker not been mentioned in thread or shouldnt be. Franz Carr and Kalac truly awful though. Should really be spared from this list to be honest, played good football. Left City in playoff spot. Peter Taylor - Like Hamilton interms of reception with fans. Spent too much money on average players Rowett, Davidson, Sturridge, Scowcroft spring too mind but not awful signings. Lewis, Cresswell, Akinbiyi, Wise really poor signings. Sacked when club bottom of Prem. Dave Bassett - Not likeable for one minute and style of play could sent you sleep. Signed Dickov and Deane who helped stear us to promotion - under Adams, but Laursen and Rogers truly uttley awful. Did give Matt Piper his major chance in the 1st team and eventually sold for £3.5m at despreat times. Stepped down from managers role after club relegated. Briefly took over when Adams resigned and wanted job back with Howard Wilkinson but not even our board were stupid....Or were they? Craig Levien - Unkown by many fans but had decent reputation in Scotland. Not the likable to be honest. Brought awful players like Rab Douglas, Gerrbrandt, Hamil, De Vreis, Sylla, Hughes and to a certain extent Kisnorbo. Sacked when club in lower reaches of Championship maybe bottom 3? Takes credit for shiffting Stearman to RB though. Ian Holloway - Funny guy but didnt produce results when mattered. Signed Oakley and Howard who are still here - just about, but the too Hungarians were awful. Took over when in mid table but took us down into League 1 for 1st time. Sacked. Paulo Sousa - Indifferent view regards to fans but I think most wanted him out after Pompey game. Lamey, Moreno not great signings. Sacked after 9 games. Other poor Managers include McLintock, Worthington and Megson.
samjohnson Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Technically, Holloway should be manager. He lead the club somewhere it had never been before... Holloway wasnt to blame. It was Milan who picked the squad, not the manager
foxaholic Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 My dad always says the worst player he's ever seen play is a guy called Tommy English. Apparently he was the replacement for someone class as well. Melrose? Absolutely right the worst deal ever done by Leicester.Ask your dad how bad norman Leet was
