The Leicester City squad touched down in manager Sven-Goran Eriksson's homeland on Sunday, as the first leg of the Foxes' pre-season tour got underway in Sweden.

Following an early-morning start at King Power Stadium, a 24-man squad and accompanying staff travelled to Heathrow Airport, before embarking on the two-hour flight to Stockholm Arlanda.

And from there it was a short transfer to nearby Uppsala - the venue of City's first game in the Stockholm Football Trophy on Tuesday, against Swedish third-tier outfit IK Sirius.

Sirius themselves were in action on Sunday, recording a 3-1 victory in their final game before a mid-season break in the Swedish campaign.

But after a full day of travelling, the Foxes squad were content with a walk to stretch the legs before taking in a light lunch in their picturesque surroundings, around 70km north of the capital.

While the squad will train at Sirius' nearby Student Arena on Monday morning, the work began immediately for the manager, who conducted an early-evening press conference with local members of the Swedish media, discussing the visit to Sweden as a whole, his side's tournament outings against Sirius and Real Mallorca, and the feeling of being back on home soil.

Already a week into their preparations, the squad will head to the Student Arena on Monday no-doubt buoyed by the first game of the pre-season campaign coming up on the horizon. Several members of the travelling squad are expected to play a part in Tuesday's game against Sirius, with the fixture against Mallorca on Thursday also offering the chance for everyone to pick up important match minutes.

City will also face Enskede in Stockholm next week before heading to Austria for the Kaernten Cup, where they will face matches against Turkish side Bursaspor and Spanish giants Valencia.

You can see how the Foxes fare in their opening game of the tour on lcfc.com and Foxes Player, with exclusive access behind-the-scenes, highlights, reports, pictures and interviews from every game in Sweden and Austria.
