ElbertTheFox Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 When we played D*rby at home last season, he was stood down at the bar at half time yelling and ranting. Me and my dad went over and joined in with him! Much love for Bernie! :lei1:
Jagdinho Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 I heard that he walks to every home game? I doubted it, but when i keep seeing him, and then a random burst of 'ARGGHHHHHHH' comes out, it wouldn't surprise me if he did walk..

I doubted it, but when i keep seeing him, and then a random burst of 'ARGGHHHHHHH' comes out, it wouldn't surprise me if he did walk.. I've heard that on a couple of occasions too, also heard he got a free season ticket Which I don't believe for one second.
Jace Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 plus the fact he's surreptitiously filming him. what a tosser. not the best salesman either started off on £20 ended up on £0

He walks to every home game after getting the train from Loughborough to Leicester, yes.
RyanB89 Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 Quality, the bird is pretty hot too. Nice post. This!
sdb Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 Actually, although the guy is a bit annoying, he OK-ed the free shirt for Bernie. Fair play. And girl is a dream.

Yojoe36 Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 He wasn't allowed in at Derby away, cause the stewards thought he was pissed. <_< tossers Gotta love Bernie though
LoughboroughFox Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 He still shops in Tescos on a friday morning! wearing that same top!
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 I thought he had been a chartered accountant in his earlier days. I'm not sure whether he has mental health issues nowadays though or if he simply can't look after himself because of years of alcohol abuse, but it's sad to see people taking the piss out of him. Agree with you 100% Bilo.... I don't know bernie at all of course, but it's likely that booze has affected his mental health or maybe he was Ill so turned to drink? The two are usually inextricably linked. I know people take the piss but there is a kind of affection for him as well and I doubt any of us would ever see him get hurt at an away game. He can come across as quite scary... The first game I took my son to was wolves away a few seasons back and he shit himself when bernie screamed whilst we were queuing up for coffee.. I told mi lad about him and then he was cool...
lestajigs Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 Anybody else feel anger towards the douchebag talking 'Who is it?' Bernie: Andy King 'Is he good?' etc etc. Knob. Yea it's normally little spotty 13 year olds, with nothing better to do, probally wants to jack off to it when he gets home!!!!!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 What a character he is. Cracked me up at first, but got to thinking they were making a fool of him. Hope he got his free T shirt.
PeterTaylorsApprentice Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 From what i know of him, his family all lives in the same house (about ten of them) in Shelthorpe, Also he now gets the bus to the train station from the walkers/kingpower. Also, he does pay for tickets. wow i sound like a stalker The only thing i don't know, is what he has in the number of plastic bags he carries around with him everywhere, but anyway Bernie is a legend :lei1: :lei1: :lei1: :lei1: :lei1: arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The Year Of The Fox Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 i know from when i was a kid bernie the legend lived in sileby and walked to and from all home games respect deserves more than a shirt !!!!!! He only has to walk because he's always too pissed to drive. Doesn't sound too bad on that clip, but he does himself no favours drinking like he does at every game
funkyrobot Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 I think bernie should take over didi hamann's role. Potentially he could then take up the reigns when Sven leaves. The post match interview would be amazing.
jonah Posted 16 July 2011 Posted 16 July 2011 i have known bernie for most of my life, he actually lives just over the road from me in loughborough(thorpeacre not shelthorpe), i can tell you that his mental state is just that, its not through alcohol abuse (he,s actually not that big a drinker) its just a mental issue which makes him more extrovert than others and as he,s got older (i think he,s knocking on for 80 now although nobody knows for sure, and his wifes still going strong too!) then its become more apparent. most of you will have seen him with a can in his hand etc at games but you,ll proberbly find its the same can he had when he first got there, he does drink but not to the extent of him being an alcoholic, in fact if he has a problem with his alcohol consumption then i should be in me box by now!! if you actually listen to the comments he makes there,s actually quite a bit of knowledge in them especially historically and not just about football either, but because of the way he is people just see it as bernie being bernie and i actually think that he knows this and quite likes the infamey it brings him. long live him i say and i hope he never changes or his health never stops him being the bloke he is.......just dont come and sit with me when im having a beer though eh bernard!

isaidno Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Saw Bernie in his new ' Andy is our King ' t-shirt at the Bristol City game. The stewards had to help him to his seat
Jace Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Saw Bernie in his new ' Andy is our King ' t-shirt at the Bristol City game. The stewards had to help him to his seat yeah i spoke to him before the match we walked into each other in the pub im guessing he got it free because he had some advertising on it but it still looked quite cool it has andy is our king on the front with a crown and BERNIE 1 on the back in silver
Raj Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Sats home game he was getting a beer in L1 kiosks. The girl serving seemed mistified by him,i told her he was a club legend and hence had to be treated as such. Poor girl actually believed me i think..
