Sky games (Championship)

I guess that needs to be balanced with the possibility of 2000+ (assuming £30 a ticket) fans deciding to stay at home and watch it on the TV.

Maybe. But its good for the profile of the clubs on tv though. I still wouldnt say no lol

Gotta be honest,I'm not that fussed. The way we (generally) have performed on sky lately, think I'd rather listen on the radio to the away games anyway!

Especially after the saga of Ipswich away last season that sky created. They clearly backed that ref into a corner and made the game carry on in terrible conditions. To be honest I rather we steer clear of them.

I don't mind if we're not on sky because i go to all the games anyway

When you have a mortgage, bills, car insurance to pay let's see if you can afford to go too every game then.

I wish people like you would take a second and think before you got so elitist. As many posters have pointed out already, money and location are a major factor in dictating whether many fans can attend games or not. Many of us neither have a bottomless pit of money, nor do we have to live in Leicester forever. People need to stop this silliness about fans and plastic fans--yes some people are more loyal, but in the end, we are all fans, so can we just for once stand together on an issue and support our team?

On topic: I'm a bit surprised the Forest and Derby games aren't on TV

He's a kid that thinks he's our number 1 fan. Don't pay attention to it.

This is another example of the disparity between the Championship and the Prem. In the Prem the clubs get around half a million quid per game from Sky; as mentioned before in the Championship, clubs get £60k. Now for some of the smaller clubs in our division, that more than compensates them for the shortfall in revenue, whereas clubs such as ourselves, Leeds, West Ham and the Scum most likely loose revenue.

I live in Singapore and would love to see more games, but am quite happy to watch the "Football League Show" if it means our club has more money to take us to the promised land. To be honest if we reach the Prem this season it will cost me a fortune as I will have to move back to Anstey so I can watch every game (not being elitest, just a massive fan that still has a season ticket despite only being able to go to about 6 games a year) :scarf:

Judging by your username you're about 16 years old with bugger all financial committments. Hardly makes you the biggest fan does it?

As for Sky not showing many of our games- GOOD.

I hate the firm with a passion, fkin up game times for the fans, pricing out the working class man etc. Oh yeh and who can forget (or forgive) that farce that was Ipswich away?? I don't want any of that

And I'd rather listen to it on the Radio anyway, cos if you go down the pub wanting to watch the City game you have no chance if Man U or whoever are on another channel. (and all you do is get slagged off for liking crap football anyway!)

Sky not showing us is a good thing!

Couldn't agree more, the last thing I want is Leicester playing on a Friday evening giving my misses the perfect opportunity to either drag me round Fosse Park Saturday afternoon or worse doing DIY!

Its games that get moved to a Sunday or even worse a school night that do me. I never drink on a Sunday (well not since Man City at home!) and we all like a beer at the game.

I really wish people would boycott Sky. I can see its a necessary evil for some fans who can't get to any games for whatever reason. However, they are in the minority. Most people who have sky only have it to watch some form of football on a Sunday afternoon (most likely a football match that doesn't concern their own team)

Am I right in thinking the Football League show is no more?

Why?

I thought it was quite good tbh....on at a sodding crap time tho.

I'm not bothered bout us being on Sky, I dont mind us being on there for some away gmaes and such but just hate the fact they change the time to Stupid 5:20pm for the ones that are on Saturdays.

Every FL club gets a slice of the overall TV deal depending on their division, that's more than 60k. The £60k is an extra sum given to the hosting clubs of fixtures, this sum pays for the opposition's overnight stay (any changes from the fixture list - this is the agreement) and all the other expenses occuring with changing fixtures dates etc.

One more season, then it's finished I believe....though I don't know if the FL highlights package is available.

OK cheers. I'm sure I read that the BBC didn't bid for it because of cut backs. Hopefully the current deal has another year then.
