The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Which, in your opinion will be the best away day, and for what reason? I don't mean the local derbies either. Leeds away could be brilliant if we're where we want to be by then. I'm not sure when burnley away is, but last time it was pretty good- the weather was nice and we managed to get a couple of hours watching the cricket next to turf moor. Plus their away end is pretty old fashioned with good acoustics for chanting. And you can stand without any hassle. Never been to upton park, but their fans always seem to generate a good atmosphere, and a day out to london and the flying scotsman always appeals to me! Whats yours?
General Smuts Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 I'm looking forward to Leyton Orient again this year with the Stevenage fans. Taking over their local again with a lovely rendition of Golden Touch with gazzer and TPH. Magical.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Leeds will only be good if a massive percentage of our fans are up for standing, massive damp squib otherwise with their stewarding. West Ham, Millwall and Palace will always be decent. Standard London away days. Brighton has potential for a weekender.
LoughboroughFox Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Dont know why, but i really like Barnsley away! must be walking round the market which still sells chinos! (not that i wear them) must be because we beat them quite often, oh and the Joseph Brahma pub in the town centre!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 July 2011 Author Posted 22 July 2011 Disagree about palace. I done millwall last season, so will do west ham this time. Completely agree regarding leeds. If, and its a bit if we are in the top two by then, I know every fan will be on their feet throughout . I hnpe if we go up anywhere its at leeds. That'd be schweet (for personal reasons!)
THE MAGICIAN Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 For me it's Cov away, reason being I have missed Football this summer more than any other year, added to the fact no World cup etc, plus the anticipation for what's going to be a memorable season August 6th Ladies and Gentlemen will be the day Leicester City arrive in style...................
Fox92 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 The away day I'm most looking forward to is West Ham. Always wanted to go to Upton Park so this year I am going regardless. Nothing is going to stop the day being bad.

Nothing is going to stop the day being bad. West Ham for me too. Arguably our main rivals in promotion, London away, good ground with a bit of an edge on the atmosphere and i'm sure it will have a Premier League game feel to it. It's been said over and over but I can't wait for the season to start!!
paddy Agyemang Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Barnsley was funny last year I liked that but Cov n Leeds ATM,Cov only because it's day 1 of a good year so please let's sell 6,000 up there next week people
Ash Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Last seasons ones that stuck out for me atmosphere wise - Leeds,Barnsley,Derby! I always liked Peterborough away, everyone standing and singing there hearts out !

Your bang on there mate, it's felt like a bloody year since ipswitch at home!!!! West ham away should be interesting though
The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 July 2011 Author Posted 22 July 2011 Leeds away in the league game did have a good atmosphere. I was off my head at derby so can't remember much about that at all
kylestyle06 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Portsmouth and Cardiff away, simply for the night out, last few years i've been there we've had a really good day/night. Looking forward to them - feel like I know the way round off the back of my hand due to the many times we've been there over the last few seasons

Fox92 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good? Errr... I meant like regardless of whether the game is moved to mid week. or if the weather is very poor, I still want to be going like. You know what I mean?

GLC Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Been to the barnsley game the last few years, great away day, awesome atmosphere and we take a massive following,
kylestyle06 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Just thinking of all the away days is putting a smile on my face. The new season cannot come quick enough. I seriously miss football games at the weekend ..
jockkkk Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 I'm now nearer to many of the away teams than Leicester so I'm looking forward to Leeds (15 mins walk from my flat), Hull and, of course, Blackpool.
LE15 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Last seasons ones that stuck out for me atmosphere wise - Leeds,Barnsley,Derby! I always liked Peterborough away, everyone standing and singing there hearts out ! Pish away will be shite this year no away terrace by the time we play them and away fans will be in the old main stand only about 1000 tickets by what a pish supporting mate was saying. Best away day will be Palace for me cus it will be followed by darts world championships final at the ally pally.
MC Prussian Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton away had so much potential... ... until the Football League decided we had to play them in November, January and February respectively.
SemperEadem Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Shame there is no Sheffield game this year ( apart from Rotherham).
