  1. 1. Should City bid for Shane Long?

    • Yes but no more than £6m
    • Yes but no more than £4m
    • Yes cash and player exchange
    • Only if we fail to land Nicky Maynard
    • Only if another Championship side makes a bid
    • No not a chance

Poster's name was bnet.

I believe he has shown himself to be ITK if I remember correctly. Credible.

I think we're gonna be wincing at the price tag come this time tomorrow. Or at least I will be.

You mean it's even higher than the £7.5m quoted??

We would have spent a lot of money this summer, guess the reports of us having more than 10m were very correct indeed. Add in wages as well and it's a huge figure.

Although I'm not 100% on his mid & long term record he's an improvement on what's already here and should aid the squad

I agree. Can't help feeling we have overpaid massively for him but it isn't my money, he is a lot better than we currently have and could well be the final piece in the jigsaw.

Taking his penalties away and he scored 14 times last season. Nugent did the same. If we can get the same amount again from both of them along with the amount of goals that I am sure will come from our midfielders I am very confident of at least 2nd place and would be very hopeful of winning the Championship. The amount we will pay for him will pale into insignificance if we do go up anyway.

Right, so now we'll be at the stage we were at with Maynard when our 1st bid went in... just another 50 pages to go, then a thread lock and then another 100 pages in a new thread :frusty:

It's not just his goals that we're buying though he has a great engine and closes down opposition defenders and has good movement, which should create more chances for others.

Bristol didn't want to sell, like with Mills if we put in an offer to Reading that is a good offer they are more likely to accept.
