Happy Fox Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Just looked at some stats for shane long and alot of his goals last season were penalties. From his own doing i.e being fowled in the box or other players
Walshy5 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 From his own doing i.e being fowled in the box or other players Doesn't really say
Guest ttfn Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 The new financial thing is an irrelevance as King Power can just sponsor the ground for £20m a season if they want. It is nothing more than a gesture from football after so much crticism with regards to the way clubs are run. They can't. Anything like that is subject to a "fair value" test.
john doe Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 I'd have taken Greening, decent player. Not now though, we're well stocked in midfield. still room for lewis mcgugan
John Matrix Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 From his own doing i.e being fowled in the box or other players oh yeah
tomtom Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Nae dramas mate. I wasn't overly thrilled with Boateng. I think Greening is a good signing considering we need an experienced head who can also cross the ball. Andy Reid also has a good eye for a ball too but i just can't see who is going to put those crosses in the back of the net! I was also a little hesitant with McClaren but if he turns out to be good then il be happy. Got a world of experience and is good friends with Fergie etc so possibly could get some loanees of them.. Just for the record i put 10 quid on you to win the championship and Man City to win the premier, so i wont be too annoyed if you do it! Andy Reid has a good eye for a ball??...shame its all undone by his eye for a pie and a pint
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 They can't. Anything like that is subject to a "fair value" test. They can. Also we have King power on the shirts. They can sponsor the training ground too. Also they would have no legal juristriction to stop them as I am certain in a court of law we (or any club) would be allowed to make as much revenue as they can from selling naming rights as long as it is within the boundaries of law. There is no way that any football authority could win a case on the basis of you have sold the rights for too much. Impossible.
crisp packet Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Hence man city and ethihad !! Enjoy the ride folks
Mickey O'Neil Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 That ginger lass? Natalie Jackson, she has a hugeeeee nose I'd smash her back doors in!!!
Red Dawn Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 still room for lewis mcgugan 10Million take it or leave it moneybags
Clazie Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 10Million take it or leave it moneybags £50 million. No, hang on wait...

Fcuk him. And the Yak. I thought there manager said we havn't even made a bid, then someone one here says we've made a bid and had it accepted!!! So how does he no all this!!! Who knows...wouldn't be the first time players have been sold behind managers backs. Hope this one's true.

Red Dawn Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 it was said on EMN we were closing in on him We wouldn't sell him at any price. Certainly not to another championship team.
Bettsy82 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Why would so many media sources be hyping this one up if it wasnt true theres got to be something in it regardless of what Brian Mcdermott says sounds like we are closer to this one than we ever were with maynard. although its our first bid so it has to be rejected.
Raw Dykes Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 We wouldn't sell him at any price. Certainly not to another championship team. I'm pretty sure we're talking about Long. Maybe this is why people think you're a Reading fan.
JJS84 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 We wouldn't sell him at any price. Certainly not to another championship team. Think they meant Long

There is no way that any football authority could win a case on the basis of you have sold the rights for too much. Impossible. The club would be allowed to make the revenue, there's no problem with that. What they would do is exclude that particular revenue (or the portion deemed to be above fair value) from the break-even calculation on which FFP is based.
Rusko187 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Why do we keep getting posters who support other clubs on our forums? Granted some are decent but others are just trying to cause s**t... Ban em' all I say!

But again that would not hold up in a court of law. That would be akin to discounting 15000 tickets sold a game from Leeds as they average more. Any penalty they can try to impose would be thrown out by any court in the land as revenue now matter how it comes is still revenue. I can see what you are saying by the way and not trying to have an arguement but that is just unenforceable and may well lead to a break away Championship akin to the Premier League if they tried.
