  1. 1. Should City bid for Shane Long?

    • Yes but no more than £6m
    • Yes but no more than £4m
    • Yes cash and player exchange
    • Only if we fail to land Nicky Maynard
    • Only if another Championship side makes a bid
    • No not a chance

According to good old Fanhouse Percy

FanhousePercy John Percy

Nigel Clough wants to bring #lcfc striker Steve Howard back to #dcfc

I would imagine this would happen once we sign up Long and Jong

It's not just his goals that we're buying though he has a great engine and closes down opposition defenders and has good movement, which should create more chances for others.

From a Reading fans perspective, we certainly don't want to lose him but are pretty much resigned to the fact that he is off. As usual we are trying get every last penny we can for him.

One thing that he doesn't get enough credit for is that he is very good in the air.

Why did Top borrow the money directly off you?

No I just don't like my club massively overspending on mediocre players. I don;t care where the money comes from.

I detect a hint of jealousy in your post! why is it that because we have new owners who are happy to splash the cash does everybody now dislike us! Leicester fans have been to hell and back what with administration and all when we were in league 1 we were stll pulling in 20,000 a game we both know that wouldnt be the case if Reading went down because your attendances are poor in the championship. Leicester fans deserve everything thats happening to them at the minute because they are some of the most loyal in the country.

Sven Goran Eriksson fears striking target Shane Long is destined for the Premier League.

Skysports.com revealed that the Foxes had launched a bid for the Irish international, who has also been targeted by Championship rivals West Ham.

But with the likes of West Brom, Sunderland, Everton and Newcastle also linked, Eriksson fears the lure of the top-flight will see the Reading man reject their advances.

"Long is one on the list but he may end up in the Premier League," said Eriksson.

"We are working on one or two more and if we do then it's going to be a big name."

That is just a regurgitation of what Sven said on the football forum, I wouldn't take any notice of it

Yeah I was assuming it is just typical manager PR talk.

But providing a :source: is always welcome ;)

Exactly what I was thinking. Regurgitating old news to sell papers.

Haha no I wasn't doubting you guys.

Just saying that, as useless as the link I posted is, it has a bit more substance than random speculation and arguments
