For anyone interested in fluid dynamics and how it appertains to this situation:

Mark Buchanan has covered how events like this break out in his book Ubiquity

They say: "Scientists have recently discovered a new law of nature. Its footprints are virtually everywhere - in the spread of forest fires, mass extinctions, traffic jams, earthquakes, stock-market fluctuations, the rise and fall of nations, and even trends in fashion, music and art. Wherever we look, the world is modelled on a simple template: like a steep pile of sand, it is poised on the brink of instability, with avalanches - in events, ideas or whatever - following a universal pattern of change. This remarkable discovery heralds what Mark Buchanan calls the new science of 'ubiquity', a science whose secret lies in the stuff of the everyday world. Combining literary flair with scientific rigour, this book documents the coming revolution by telling the story of the researchers' exploration of the law, their ingenious work and unexpected insights. Mark Buchanan reveals how the principle of ubiquity will help us to manage, control and predict the future. This book, the world's first on the topic, will change how we think about the world and our place in it."

Me? I reckon he makes the best pizzas in Northern France so maybe I'm a bit bias. It's an outstanding coverage of the subject and the piece concerning the outbreak of WW1 couldn't be more relevant to the current events.

LOTS of reports about serious trouble kicking off in Wolverhampton city centre….

Nope - unavailable.

Nope - unavailable.

It's being retweeted be everyone on Twitter. It took about 10 minutes for it to load for me so maybe try again later. It's a lady shouting in the middle of the riots in Hackney and condemning people for what they're doing and stuff.

Right, hold on a second, where is it that there is no confirmed reports of rioting? Oh yeah, Liverpool. Why are we the punchline of all these jokes?!

Regardless of whether there's younger kids out and about "being part of it" they should get the ****ing rubber bullets out, if you're big enough to think this is all fun and games then you deserve to be caught up in how the Riot police respond to whats going on!

****ing idiots.

ROADS: The Aston Expressway is now closed inbound – thats from the motorway into the city centre itself.

BUSES: National Express are telling us that West Midlands buses are stopping at the inner ring road of Birmingham City Centre.

TRAINS: Birmingham New Street – travellers are being advised to use the main entrance ONLY as all other entrances are closed.

Yep.

Just like I got into the Smiths after they broke up, I've now, finally, seen this video as people finished wearing it as a T-shirt. smile.png

But what about Dublin, Dundee and Humberside?

I've been living off that joke for the past two hours. Think it's wearing thin will all my mates now. :(

Anybody thinking about searching for Highfields on Twitter, don't bother. Unless you happen to enjoy reading tedious unfounded speculation of course...

That's something I wonder to myself.

:D

DJ Campbell where are you?

This is getting ridiculous now. If the police can't keep law and order on the streets, then the army need to be brought in. Spray these scummy little twats with rubber bullets, knock them out with tazers and choke them with pepper spray. They'll all **** off within an hour. Then absolutely destroy them in the courts. Give them a decade inside each.
