Tottenham and other disturbances / riots

It is a sad reminder that a sizeable proportion of the population think it is fine to steal if they have a reasonable chance of getting away with it.

Just like downloading films and music!!

I wonder which vile scum would do that on these boards!!

I'm left thinking

"Tottenham High Street's Burning Down,

Burning Down, Burning Down,

Tottenham High Street's Burning Down,

Full Blown Riot!"

would be a great football chant.

To the tune of london bridge, of course. (:

Really? More like this I think...

except of course, this wasn't about protest rioting - it was about nicking stuff.

Apparently, the Kaiser Cheifs have been spotted in North London with a smug look on thier faces

I'm moving house next month to Archway, if it spreads down to there can the fookers nick me a brand new TV and all the gubbins and install it in my flat please? Nice one.

Hackney a bit late to the party but inevitably getting involved. Line of police on Mare Street with crowds gathering apparently.

Everton play Tottenham away on Saturday, Scousers rarely need an invitation to scrap.

Will it still go ahead if things don't look like clearing up? Spurs fans already told they can't buy tickets from the ground...

This will rumble on for a while. I'm seeing if work will accept this as an acceptable excuse for me to piss off back to Leicestershire for a bit.

Yes Phube. It is exactly the same. rolleyes.gif

Yup... only difference is the intellectuals do it, whereas the chavs steal from shops!

There's no faulting your flawed, boring and terribly predictable logic. You appear to have borrowed Tony's stuck record player - maybe you could get someone to nick you a nice new one...

Intellectuals surely if given choice of looting options would not pick JD sports?

Hackney JD Sports has just been looted now.

I'm not certain everybody knows what they are protesting about - it just looks like an excellent opportunity in a poor economic climate to steal stuff.

Archway Tube's only about a 25 minute walk from me. See if you can get one of them to nab me one too.

I've heard it's getting worst down there. Hope it doesn't affect you too badly! If it gets to Holloway/Caledonian Road I'm going to be annoyed. Especially if they attack the 24 hour Chicken Cottage. That place is a life saver in the wee hours of the morning.

It seems to me that this rioting has nothing at all to do with the shooting or any protest against it which was taking place peacefully it's just an excuse to indulge in some serious vandalism, violence and stealing because it makes some 'little people' feel big and clever and we'll all pay for it.

Spot on mate scum the lot of em!

Who's Tony??

But I've been playing this record for years! :)

Always makes me laugh that people who steal can look down on other people who steal for how and what they steal. Oh well... each to their own thievery I suppose...

But then I do need some new trainers and we have a JD in Leicester... I suggest a protest riot as well!

It's open 24 hours a day near me. I can't think of anything more magical when I've stumbled home at 4am. What a beauty.

Anyway, all Tescos, Waitroses, Co-ops and Sainsburys have closed up in Islington because of riot scares. If it makes it to the Holloway end of Islington I am going to be seriously peeved.
