purpleronnie Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 I have to say I haven't been following all the stories about the riots but didnt it all begin with the shooting and killing of an unarmed man? Now the PM is introducing more police powers, seems a little odd doesn't it?

Dr The Singh Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 you seem to be blurring the line between football lads and the EDL Ok!!

Now the PM is introducing more police powers, seems a little odd doesn't it? He was definitely armed, what isn't clear is circumstances in which he was shot. There was a suggestion initially that he opened fire first, but the evidence found since suggests that his gun wasn't fired at all. He may have been waving it around for all anyone seems to know, but the actual sequence of events hasn't been established yet

Houdini Logic Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Firstly - Singh, congrats for talking sense. Secondly - why do you keep saying I'm/we're blurring the lines between the EDL and 'football lads' (what the fuck does that even mean?!), I'm simply replying to this post - 'If by cleaning up our town or defending peoples property means I have to defend it with 'members' of the EDL or football lads' Go away, have a little think about what your argument is and then come back and please make a distinction about who you're talking about. If you're The cynic in me says that you're chopping and changing depending on what suits your argument, but let's see what you come up with...

You then said 'they are usually the ones smashing up our towns' after the Loyal lad defended the football lads for doing what they did. they were Eltham local lads that happened to follow Millwall with the odd EDL supporter as well, so again, by having a couple of local lads there that support the EDL doesnt' mean that the EDL were there

So because one bloke claimed he was chased by a couple of lads, that makes these 200 lads racist thugs? They few that chased him may have been rioters themselves, theres no evidence to prove they were football lads. And for the record, plenty of football lads have blacks, indians, sikhs, hindus, muslims and jews within their groups. Wouldn't make much sense for a black lad to be saying "get the blacks" now would it?

Daggers Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 come on lets not get hysterical. When was the last time you seen a mob of football lads come to leicester and 'smash the town up'? Hmm...exactly when was that last EDL 'March of the Cvnts"?
Leicester_Loyal Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Most of those 21 look like junkies, plain and simple. I'd be willing to bet my house that they are not part of any mob in England. Just look at them for ****s sake. Hmm...exactly when was that last EDL 'March of the Cvnts"? You keep calling football lads the EDL. Two completely different groups pal.
Guest lcfc80 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Hmm...exactly when was that last EDL 'March of the Cvnts"? it was football lads not EDL, so the question still stands, when was the last time football lads came and smashed leicester up?

This was not orchestrated by blacks or whites or any specific ethnic minority, so for the EDL to get invloved at any level, being that they often smash up places themselves, is truely hypociritcal and uncalled for. If some local residents want to get together and make a stand than fair play, and we have seen that over the last week or so, but as soon as you start saying 'occasional member of EDL' or 'one or two racist chants' then it simply doesn't wash with me, and I think you're being very foolish and naive.
Guest lcfc80 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Course they weren't. you do know that was Wednesday dont you, 2 days after the Eltham lads had been chasing off the hoodlums. i won't argue that by wednesday some of the edl members had jumped on the bandwagon but you also have to remember that the media have to jump on things like this and whip them up abit to create a story. As I know people that were there I can say what I know and have no reason to lie or exaggerate or under play things

I take it you know people that were there then. Just because a handfull of people out of a group of 200 support the edl then it doesnt make the mob racist all of a suddorn. In fact if you went into any random boozer in town you would probably get the same sort of percentages tbh and BTW the stuff you said first on the post about why they do/did it, have a look about 10-20 pages ago where i was saying the exact same thing and ended up being shouted down for it

Guest lcfc80 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 and just a side note as well. By claiming the EDL were here, there and everywhere, like they have they have managed a very clever trick with everybody talking about them, good or bad, when in reality their impact/involvment has been minimal. everyone seems to have played right into their hands without even knowing it
