liamsm Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 i see where u coming from, but didnt everyone want MON sacked after he had a poor start to the season??? True but MON didn't spend 14 million get 11 new players and still have an open cheque to buy more players
step Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Give the team time and stop talking crap. We may have lost. But but we where not crap
21st Century Fox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 This list has been used soooooo many times to make a point. It's not only incredibly boring but it goes back to over a fookin decade ago.. This has been done to death.. My drinking buddies are avid Sven haters if truth be told. They liken him to the Victoria Beckham of the pop world... Had a few hits early on, but with little real ability and has been living off the reputation and on the 'gravy train' ever since. They say that Sven is a 'charlatan'... Has simply repeatedly gone where the money is and somehow has eked out a superb living from it Yes he's a nice guy, yes he has had success historically but where is the substance? They add.... Myself I can see their point and I'm still not convinced. However, I'm with Babylon on this. We gotta grit our teeth, batten down the hatches and get ready for a tough winter. We must be behind the existing manager.. There is no point being otherwise...... I don't think people are quoting his list of sucesses as a reason as to why he will do well here more a response to people calling him clueless, which he obviously isn't. The variety of trophies shows that he can adapt to different leagues. This is one of those times you have to take the rough with the smooth.
Heskey2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Sorry i don't recall people slating Matt mills when we were linked with him, what's changed,he's finding it hard to settle into a new team, he's still got pedigree, people like you make me laugh, Tell you what next home game lets boo him because that really helps.
SamFox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 This is ****ing embarrasing, 3 games in and people calling for Sven's head...
yorksfox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Sven was undoubtedly a strange appointment in the first place and I, for one, was far from delighted when he came in. His Man City links seem to have accounted for about half the players that have arrived here, either on loan or permanently, but this seems more about 'collecting players and hoping for the best' than serious team-building. It's a lazy approach, if anything. I'm not sure about his backroom staff either - Huddersfield were more than happy to see the back of Fazackerly and their defence improved immensely after his departure. That said, we've had enough managers over the last few years and I do feel that Sven should be given this season at least, provided we don't find ourselves in or around the bottom three around Christmas!
@mrtonycox Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 This is ****ing embarrasing, 3 games in and people calling for Sven's head... It's not 3 games FFS... He has the majority of last season too..!!!
toms Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Some will not like this but I have my opinion and entitled to air it. 1. He has spent millions on dubious signings (Matt Mills being the most shocking) 2. Most signings are defenders but still we concede 4 goals in 2 games at home, 1 game against bottom of the table team failing to have won yet.. Problem not solved then Sven... 3. Sven is tactically inept, his plan is to buy best players and let them do it for him. To be honest, give anyone a large purse and they'll buy a decent team. 4. There is no plan b when we're struggling, Sven's not able to buy new players at half time 5. I don't see a desire out there, I see players that believe the money invested will get them promoted, not hard work. We shouldn't be losing games at home like this, the players shouldn't be looking scared at home.. Sousa can't be blamed for this poor start and wasn't given much longer..... We don't need a "world class manager", we know someone that knows the league, can motivate and know's how to get the best out of players. Hope I'm wrong but I can't see promotion under Sven. If we lose to Forest & Southampton, I think the writings on the wall for Sven,
MC Prussian Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 It's not 3 games FFS... He has the majority of last season too..!!! But that was last season and he did fairly well back then, given the circumstances.
Mack Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Good Grief. I hope Sven and the players never get wind of some of the bollocks written on here. Shameful.
ribber31 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Absolutely you are entitled to your opinion... The tide is starting to turn and this forum, once full of abuse if you even dared to question Sven is becoming more balanced in opinion. However, sacking Sven now is too soon... With the players we have signed surely even Sven can get it more right than it is at the moment. As I said in my first and previous post, Sven cannot coach a football team. Can someone please tell me anything he has achieved apart from being the best self seller in the history of business? I really cannot wait to read his biography and see LCFC on the list of half wit teams he screwed over. Look at his history. He has never managed a club team without buckets of cash at his disposal in the hope of hiding his failings as a coach. Notts County should have been a warning and now the owners should take note and remove him. This league this year will not have room for late starters. He buys guys he thinks can coach themselves but even a team of greats (which we are not) need motivation and surely after a couple of sessions with Sven, motivation to check their bank balance every week will be the only motivation they will have.
back2oldbrittain Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Agree with some of your points; MILLS being the biggest one! not sure what's going on with him but he seems a little out of his depth. I think SVEN OUT is a bit drastic at this point though. He's brought in a lot of new players and it's definatley upset the dressing room. No one seems to know what to do on the park; I feel that's come from the amount of change, however I agree there is a lack of desire at the moment. What with passing that's almost sunday league at times, VERY DISAPPOINTING! It's amost like you're waiting for them to wake from a deep sleep. I'll stick with SVEN though; I'm sure this period will sort itself out, I just hope sooner rather than later. We're in this position now so let's back the boys and let them put it right. The talents there...........and I don't think it's a striker we need it's a good old fashioned captain on the park taking responsibility, rallying and pushing the rest on! I think NUGENT will improve; I was impressed that he is the only player I've seen in a long time acknowledge the crowd when he makes a mistake. C'mon City!!! nice one mate, way too early for sven out, give the players time to gel, nugent was playing well and now he's got a goal i think there will be plenty more to come, i think before st ledger's calamity we were on top of the game (2nd half) and could of been a different result.

Wow...just wow. Once we're winning, I assume you'll still be of the same opinion.
Whitlock 7 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 The manager can only do so much, I believe to many new faces and not yet got used to each others playing styles, maybe the team selection isn't right but I think the players need to take most the blame.

I have said this numerous times over the last year, and people finally see the same thing. For me he is a mercenary who goes from club to club getting millions to spend and achieves nothing, and has achieved nothing since the turn of the century, yet some how lives off the 'apparant' past glories.
Babylon Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 As I said in my first and previous post, Sven cannot coach a football team. Notts County should have been a warning and now the owners should take note and remove him. Makes no sense whatsoever, do you even know what happened there?
B52 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 A fooking disasterous start considering we were joint favourites to win the league but give the players some time to find their feet. For thoose who believed the myth, yes, but for us more resonable it's a little disappointing. It's at least ten teams capable of promotion and the rest is a bit of luck.........

FeedTheYakLCFC Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I'm just going to say this last night was an absolute shocking performance! but the lads need time to gel! Hopefully we'll turn it round and lets be honest it wouldnt be Leicester City if we had an easy season! Leicester always take us on a rollercoaster during the season! In Sven We Trust!
@mrtonycox Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 Listen to the clueless Swede on this Radio Leicester interview.. He says he's worried.. Strange I thought he'd be livid.?? http://aggbot.com/link.php?id=14570905&r=tw&c=172

@mrtonycox Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 Are you not worried? You must be because you want him sacked. I am worried yes. Sven should have been more angry in the interview, Alex Ferguson wouldn't have given that tone in an interview and certainly would have grilled the players..
Babylon Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Sven should have been more angry in the interview Jesus, do we really have to scrape the barrel for reasons to dislike him. If you are going to hate the bloke, at least concentrate on what actually matters, rather than the tone of his blooming voice. And certainly would have grilled the players.. Do you know someone didn't?
Simo86 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I am worried yes. Sven should have been more angry in the interview, Alex Ferguson wouldn't have given that tone in an interview and certainly would have grilled the players.. To be fair, Ferguson probably wouldn't have given the interview!
