kingfox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Sven says shut up you idiot and support the team. Sven out already, he turned us around last season if you haven't forgotten. He has made some very good signings. Schmeichel, Konchesky, Fernandes and Nugent have been excellent so far. Danns, Mills, St Ledger will only get better because there good players. Let Sven get in some attacking players then see where we go from there, last night's performance was decent to be honest we got forward more and created chances unlike the Reading game. All we need now is some players to finish off our chances, because last night showed that Dyer, Wellens, King and Nugent are capable of setting up chances.

Not really much of a turn around.
@mrtonycox Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 Yes? Jesus sorry tone must have been the wrong word.. I mean listen to the lack of passion and anger at his teams opening 2 games at home and losing to bottom of the table team. He SHOULD have sounded more passionate...
Nick Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Listen to the clueless Swede on this Radio Leicester interview.. He says he's worried.. Strange I thought he'd be livid.?? http://aggbot.com/li...0905&r=tw&c=172 Good interview by Ian. Sven clearly acknowledges issues - not sure what your problem is. I wouldn't respect him if he behaved like an angry child like most of the petulance on this board.
Babylon Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 8 points from PO's when he came in, we finished 8 points off PO's. Not really much of a turn around. Think about that a bit more.
@mrtonycox Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 I don't buy "players needing to gel"..... These are highly paid professionals who play in a particular position amongst players that also play in a particular position. As an experienced player you should generally know where your fellow defenders and goalie are..?? As an experienced midfielder you should know which areas to cover and how to pass a ball..? Does the daily training and preseason not address this issue..?? The Chelsea team have a high rotation system yet they seem to manage fairly well.??

kingfox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 peterborofox Can you remember where we were when Sven took over, can you remember what players we had before Sven took over. We finished 10th more promising than finishing in the relegation zone or mid-table if Sousa stayed. Think you have still be drinking, because I can remember you saying something similar last night on another thread.
sbfox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 It's not 3 games FFS... He has the majority of last season too..!!! Yeah, the season where he guided us from bottom of the table to promotion candidates? How awfully he did... Look, where the hell are you naysayers when we're winning? You come on here when we lose a game or two and expect to be taken seriously. Right now, the only reason I want us to beat forest is so your kind crawl back under your rocks and leave us alone.
Babylon Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I don't buy "players needing to gel" Well most ex pros always seem to say that teams need time to gel, I think they would know better than you. These are highly paid professionals who play in a particular position amongst players that also play in a particular position. As an experienced player you should generally know where your fellow defenders and goalie are..?? As an experienced midfielder you should know which areas to cover and how to pass a ball..? Until you really know a player, how do you know if he's the sort to go to the ball to receive a pass, someone who backs off, someone who stands on the spot and waits for the ball. It's just one small example. Different players do different things. Some bomb on, some are cautious, some take risks, some don't. You don't know exactly how quick people are, do you hit it over the top if they are behind their man, or do you only do that if they are already in front of their man. There are so many little things, the biggest probably being they don't really know each other yet and aren't fighting for one another. Maybe it takes a bad run to get that out of them. For them to feel like everyone is against them and they are in it together. The Chelsea team have a high rotation system yet they seem to manage fairly well.?? Have Man City clicked straight away? Did Southampton (go and read the saints fans thread). Which means we achieved play-off form during Sven's time does it not ?! Exactly.

We haven't lost 'one or two', this isn't all about recent performances. If you want everyone to be of one mind, go to North Korea.
chrisfox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Honestly the only thing I can post that conveys my feelings towards this and every other negative thread posted since last nights defeat is below!
Babylon Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 It's like Freddie Mercury looking in the back of a spoon.

If Sven hadnt have come in and we had got someone else, we wouldnt have gone down, not with all the money spent on loanees, etc, in Januray. The fact we came 10th doesnt matter, we might as well have come 17th, in terms of what we achieved it is the same. Nothing.
muzzy1981 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Give the man a full season please..... Issues I have though are: 1. Dropping Mills is surely going to shatter his confidence (but Sven has many years experience so i HOPE he knows what he's doing) 2. Too many central midfielders. We need a better version of Dye, that can offer pace and width 3. We need two new strikers, a proven goalscorer and a target man (not Howard) 4. Leading on from the previous, the lack of wide players and strikers, limits the systems/tactics we can deploy. We need to play different systems against different teams Only time will tell.
Matt Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 It is too early and I don't think he should go however to all these people saying 'it's only 3 games', 'give him 10 games' wasn't that said last year? Did you see how detrimental to our season those 9 games were? Yes we had a slump towards the end of the season which also didn't help our playoff chasing hopes but I still pinpoint the blame on the first 9 games under Sousa. Deja Vu.
okie fox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Let the manager spend a fortune and then sack him 3 games into the season, great idea. Give him a season to sort it out. A new manager would want to spend another fortune to bring in his own players.
Guest MattP Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Give him a season to sort it out. A new manager would want to spend another fortune to bring in his own players. He's off anyway at the end of the season for the next group of mugs to fill his ever expanding bank balance.
Guest MattP Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Sacking him now would be ridiculous. Totally agree, you leave it until the end of the year now whatever happens.
Leicfox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 What we need is a consistent starting eleven which Sven is still trying to figure out for some reason. He's gone crazy snapping up midfielder after midfielder (yet no wide men) and the players probably don't know if there coming or going, new players probably getting told when they signed they'd be starting then sitting on the bench or getting played out of position, and old players who thought they'd start after doing well last season like King for example being used rotational. It seems very unsettled within the squad atm which I believe has had a knock on effect on the pitch. Hopefully it will all iron itself out over the next for weeks as if not Sven could have a lot of dis-heartened players on his hands, which is/was always going to be the case when bringing in so many new faces.
@mrtonycox Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 Sousa didn't have till the end of the year did he..?? Same start last season as Sven this one.
Corky Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Actually we're two points better off. Not that it inspires me at all.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Some will not like this but I have my opinion and entitled to air it. 1. He has spent millions on dubious signings (Matt Mills being the most shocking) 2. Most signings are defenders but still we concede 4 goals in 2 games at home, 1 game against bottom of the table team failing to have won yet.. Problem not solved then Sven... 3. Sven is tactically inept, his plan is to buy best players and let them do it for him. To be honest, give anyone a large purse and they'll buy a decent team. 4. There is no plan b when we're struggling, Sven's not able to buy new players at half time 5. I don't see a desire out there, I see players that believe the money invested will get them promoted, not hard work. We shouldn't be losing games at home like this, the players shouldn't be looking scared at home.. Sousa can't be blamed for this poor start and wasn't given much longer..... We don't need a "world class manager", we know someone that knows the league, can motivate and know's how to get the best out of players. Hope I'm wrong but I can't see promotion under Sven. First of all Why didnt you put this is the other many Sven threads <_< matt mills, a young good defender, yes he was poor against reading but he has been with them so they know his strengths and weaknesses. also you can't see promotion under Sven we have brought a complete new team so it will take time 3 games in and your saying to basically sack sven! are you mental? Another 43 more games left yes lets sack sven so the players feel more down and then get a new manager who probably might not be able to play their football with our players, and get a new backroom staff :frusty:
