AoWW Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Done. An excellent idea. These e-petitions need over 100,000 signatures to be eligible for debate in the House of Commons, I believe.
accessory Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Signed. Over 50000 signatures in just three days - should hit the target easily and help to raise the profile for the campaign.
I am Rod Hull Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I remember going to Hillsborough the season after (i think, they paraded the League Cup after beating Man Utd in the final).. We were above the leppings lane end and it was the most somber moment i`v ever had at a game. Very sad to look down and see where it happened.. Back to topic.. Done..

Jaspa Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 What does everybody think 'The Truth' is then? Thought Zigari(?) would be on this in a flash. Signed and confirmed btw
Daggers Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 What does everybody think 'The Truth' is then? Some drunk people acted like arseholes, the police failed to manage a crowd and Thatcher's policy (like every other one the spunk-gargling bitch from Hell came up with) of fencing in supporters was abjectly fvcking moronic. And the simple fact that people continue to buy The Sun will forever be lost on me. The truth is that no one murdered anybody, it was an accident but there are those who refuse to accept their involvement in it, including police, politicians and supporters. Is there anything to be gained from the release of these documents? Highly unlikely. It will be petty point scoring which will achieve nothing. Will it reintroduce standing? No. Will the families of the dead finally be satisfied? No. Will anyone be taken to court? No. Should documents exist in secret? Fvck no.
Zingari Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 What does everybody think 'The Truth' is then? Thought Zigari(?) would be on this in a flash. Signed and confirmed btw hoi !! i heard that and i agree with daggers ps i'm still too concerned with JFK and 911 to worry too much about owt else just yet

Jaspa Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 hoi !! i heard that ps i'm still too concerned with JFK and 911 to worry too much about owt else just yet From my years of sweeping through these boards I deffo remember you as resident conspiracy theorist. Not that that's a bad thing tho, it's good to think outside the box. But looking though these theories drives you crazy. One moment it's all plausible, next thing they think the royals bathe in baby blood and all child stars are mind controled sex slaves.

The best I can say is that if someone or a group stands to gain a fantastic amount of wealth or power and the event looks suspicious on many levels , then in all probability there is some sort of conspiracy . It's so easy to get bogged down with stuff that does not seem to benefit anyone to a great degree so I tend to leave that alone . I concentrate on JFK and 911 because there so much visible evidence that contradicts the official version of events and I think I can recocognise the loopy versions ( such as the driver shooting JFK etc , or reptilians controlling the world ) But I'd better not turn this into another conspiracy thread

davieG Posted 23 August 2011 Author Posted 23 August 2011 100,000 BBC A petition calling for Hillsborough disaster Cabinet papers to be released has reached 100,000 signatures - enough for a Commons debate to be considered. Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and Newcastle United player Joey Barton used Twitter to urge people to sign the Home Office website petition. It follows a ruling by Information Commissioner Christopher Graham that the papers should be published. E-petitions with 100,000 signatures must be considered for debate. Celebrities including former Liverpool player Michael Owen, musician Billy Bragg, actor Simon Pegg and the comedian Dara O Briain have added their names to the petition on the Home Office website. The Cabinet Office has said it will appeal against the information commissioner's publication decision because it believes the Hillsborough Independent Panel, established under the Labour government, should oversee the disclosure of documents relating to the 1989 tragedy in which 96 Liverpool fans died. 'Petition still live'A Cabinet Office spokesman said: "The e-petition has now reached 100,000 signatures and the government will notify the Backbench Business Committee in the House of Commons in order that the committee can consider its suitability for debate when Parliament returns in September. "The e-petition will remain live, and people will be able to continue adding their signatures. The government will respond to those who have signed the e-petition in due course." A spokesman for the Hillsborough Independent Panel said: "Following recent media coverage of the Cabinet Office's decision to appeal the release of Cabinet Office papers concerning the Hillsborough disaster, the Hillsborough Independent Panel affirms its independence of government in carrying out its research, publishing an analytical report and establishing a comprehensive public archive of documents and other materials. "The panel is grateful for the continuing support of the Hillsborough families in taking forward its unique and important work."
AoWW Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Glad it's reached the 100,000 signatures. I'd still urge others to sign though - having additional numbers can't hurt.
