Unit Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Is it actually great for you living there? If so, you've peaked, how does it feel to know you can never live better than you do right now?

MC Prussian Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Pfft. Australia. Bloody expensive. Don't you have riots in Melbourne occasionally? How's public transport down there? Are the parks big and spectacular enough? Do you have great marina? Can I go and ski within an hour away from the city? Aren't those surveys a bit biased (oh, look - the Economist is evaluating new potential investment zones and Australia needs more attention)? Leaving the constant rain out of the equation, Vancouver is still the No.1 for me. (Having said that, I always wanted to come and see the improvements in Aussieland with my own two eyes, so watch this space)

Heaps of parks and gardens, There is a few marinas and a big one being built where i live, skiing is 2 hours away, not biased just stating facts When were you last here?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 31 August 2011 Author Posted 31 August 2011 Suck it Sydney. That's the main thing couldn't careless as if we were 354th as long as Sydney is 355th.
Alexikokopops Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I'm thinking of moving to Sydney. I'm going to do it now just to piss you two off
hairy Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 When I lived in Melborne the thing that pissed me off the most was the time it took to drive anywhere. I lived in Elwood / St Kilda 'boarder' just off the main road by the beach which is not too far from the city. To get out to the countryside would take 2 hours plus and to get to other areas in Melbourne could take even longer. To get to the local JB HiFi took an hour or to Chapel Street 1/2 hour. To me these big citys should not be top of the list.
Jon the Hat Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Melbourne is cool, got family there. Vancouver also cool.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 September 2011 Author Posted 1 September 2011 AND you've signed Harry. You must be beside yourself. Meanwhile we got....Emmo They have had to cap the the amount of season ticket holders for this season because of Harry, good signing for the whole league
Houdini Logic Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 This survey has clearly overlooked the fact that it's full of Australians
OzFox Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 They have had to cap the the amount of season ticket holders for this season because of Harry, good signing for the whole league Yeah. hopefully crowds go up a bit in Sydney this year too. Quite looking forward to seeing Emerton and Carle together

Thracian Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Nah that's London Haha - although not wishing to live there i can't say I've found a City I've liked better than London. I just didn't realise that was the reason! Can't judge Melbourne, having never been, but relatives have loved it there. Me I'd consider great times spent in Sorrento, Italy, the Swiss cities of Lucern or Lausanne and even Monaco for its wonderful surroundings on the Cote D'Azur. But in the end I'd choose Oxford. I never tire of the place. There's always so much to do and it's close enough to London, the South coast, the Cotswolds and my family (plus the football) in and around Leicester. A Victorian house off the Banbury Road would be perfect. http://www.dailyinfo.co.uk/guide/OxfordScenes.htm
@mrtonycox Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Sydney for me.. Although been offered a job out of our Melbourne office which I'm considering. If you want somewhere similiar to Leicester, try Slough... I worked there for 2 years.. Only place on par with our City I've seen..
