Fox 4 Life Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 I was ecstatic about the whole performance today, eveyone played their part and we finally looked like a team that could gain promotion from this league. my problem is with the reaction, I have read article after article about how poor Brighton were and how sven has saved his p45 for another few games. I fully understand we have spent some money but seriously why do we deserve so much bad publicity from the press? If I was reading this without being at the game i would have thought we just about scraped an undeserved win
THEFATBASTARD Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Why do you think newspapers are going bust?appalling lazy journalism with an agenda...water off a ducks back for me and the club i would think...fook em all..
Fox92 Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Because we only won 1-0! People, media included, seem to think that because we have the money, we should be hammering the league and teams that we play, but it doesn't work like that.
Phube Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 It's taken them a good few years for them to accept Man City as a fixture in the 'Big Four', but you know they still mourn the loss of Arsénal. They don't like clubs to have money, unless they're from London, or are called Man U or Liverpool!

The British press build you up in this country to knock u down ,every one wants us to fail !!! So we must stay strong together and back our boys even if not playing well . It's all about points and they mean prizes! Keep the faith!! Strange atmosphere yesterday......
pSinatra Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 It's just something that we are gonna have to learn to live with. Who gives a toss what those on the outside of the club think? We are always referred to as the 'Money men of Leicester', when anyone with half a brain understands that there is a whole lot more to it than that. The Raksriaksorns are not stupid, Sven is not stupid, & not all Leicester fans are stupid enough to think money alone will prove successful. Things seem to be moving in the right direction, but should we fail to get promoted - the pundits, journalists & opposing fans will love being proved right. If we secure promotion - the pundits, journalists & opposing fans will simply say that we 'bought the league'. Whatever happens this season, don't expect any credit for how we played, our team spirit, tactics, or effort.........it will be the money we have spent that will be referred to by those who get all their information from reading fictitious newspaper articles & from a 2 minute clip on the Football League Show. Anyone watching the highlights of yesterdays game on the FLS would think we scraped a win, when we know the scoreline didn't honestly reflect how superior we were. We cannot let ourselves be bothered by the ignorance of others.
Finchy Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 I think it's ridiculous how the press and fans of other teams are treating us. A mate of mine who is a Derby fan keeps comparing us to Man City, which is absolute bollocks. Man City are spending obscene amounts of money and are definitely buying themselves the league. However we are just spending enough to compete, our squad is still worth less than West Ham's and we've spent about as much as a lower Premiership team. If we went up that is what we'd have to do to survive anyway so why not start the team now. It's more annoying that when West Ham, Brighton or Southampton spend money, it's called ambition.
Happy Fox Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 nottmtails Paul Taylor What do #nffc fans think? Is it right to retain cautious stance in face of FFP or is #lcfc boom or bust approach the right way to go? Some Notts journo, they are starting to piss me off
somebum Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I think you are looking at conspiracies that aren't really there. Every manager, club, nation, player comes in for their fair share of vitriol and criticism from the press. It is only because we follow City to the letter that we read every report going and no doubt if we took time to read reports concerning other clubs we would find them getting a rough ride as well. Besides that I wouldn't believe anything I read in the papers.
