Bluebird1927 Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 What do you think will be the result tomorrow when you come to the CCS. Personally I can see us beating you 2-1 I think Sven is completely the wrong man for you, your team should be running away with this league with the players you've got. I would take a draw though considering how strong your team is. Where do you all think Cardiff and Leicester will be by the end of the season ? and whats your predictions for tomorrow ?
One Arm Babba Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 ? Sven wrong why ? Don't believe all the nonsense you read in the red top newspapers. Sven has us playing the right way and we looked very good for 80 minutes against Brighton. I'm very cautious about our chances tomorrow, we don't seem to get much luck at Cardiff. My heart says 2-1 to us but my head says 2-2 late equaliser for Cardiff. I hope it's a good game.
stillwater Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 With it being a TV match I can see our players stepping it up a notch to impress the TV audience wouldn't be surprised to see us play you off the park looking at a 3 or 4-1 win. As far as the end of the season would hope we finish in the top 2 and can see you loseing out yet again in the play offs.

I would take a draw though considering how strong your team is. Where do you all think Cardiff and Leicester will be by the end of the season ? and whats your predictions for tomorrow ? A team which consists of a completely new back line and further additions to the midfield and up front is going to take time to hit the ground running. Even in this tin-pot league. The fact of the matter is this. We should have won our two home games early on in the season and the referee cost us two points at Forest so we should be 8 points better off than we are now. That puts us on equal points with So'ton with a game in hand as it stands now. It's a fine line between success and failure in many games in this league but it's the early going and we're not too far off the pace. The fact that no-one as yet is running away with this league suits us. It gives us more time to get our act together and when we do, someone is in for a hammering. Maybe it will be your lot? As for tomorrow's game as it's on TV we will come out and take an early lead only for the referee to give a dodgy decision in your favour. The game will end up a draw more than likely. By the end of the season I don't really care where your lot will be. As for ourselves since "we should be running away with this league with the player's we've got" I'd expect us to be in the top two. If not, we'll judge Sven then. Until this happens, your point is irrelevant.
jonthefox Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 As its on the box. A rather dull 0-0 or 1-1.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 Apologies for the tossers who criticise you for daring to question sven. You're entitled to your opinion. 3-1 to you

stockyfox Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 O ye of little faith but knowing 'Leicester City', I understand precisely where you are coming from! But when you look at the squad, it really is awesome. Schmeichel in goal of course Back four: from Lee Peltier, Sol Bamba, Matt Mills, Paul Konchesky, Sean St Ledger; John Pantsil Midfield Diamond: Wow! choose 4 from Gelson Fernandes, Ritchie Wellens, Yuki Abe, Andy King, Michael Johnson, Neil Danns; Paul Gallagher Front Two: Choose from Jermaine Beckford, Darius Vassell, David Nugent; Jeffrey Schlupp There are Eighteen players there, many of whom are International class. We can only play eleven so ignoring those I've not listed like Dyer, Moussa, Howard, Berner, Ball . if Weale is on the bench, that means three of the above won't even make the bench. We have never in the history of the Club had such a talented squad. Below is what I posted earlier on the 'No more excuses thread'. If you haven't already read it, I reproduce it here.... There was something about the way the team played last week v Brighton that was so reassuring. They played as a team with no weak links. The passing was good, accurate and went forward. We swung the ball around switching the point of attack time after time. What we didn't see was the ball going back to Schmeichel, just for the sake of it. Movement off the ball was as good as I've seen for a long time. We were creative. . We tackled hard but fair. We were tenacious, chased down and rescued 'lost' causes. We were more watchful of being offside, We were more threatening from corners. We were strong right to the final whistle. We weren't nervous in the last ten or even five minutes. Vassell played a blinder, Beckford led the attack and terrified the Brighton defence. But it was in the engine-room that I was most impressed. Sol Bamba was sensational. Matt Mills showed signs reminiscent of Steve Walsh. Lee Peltier makes me forget all about Kyle Naughton. Yuki Abe gets better and better. And then I look at the bench and think 'Thank God I'm a Leicester fan because if I was an opposition fan, I'd be bloody terrified'. Excuses? That's for other teams to make when they come up against us. That's why I fear for Cardiff tomorrow. There could be one hell of a backlash after last Wednesday
Thracian Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 After our spineless surrender at Cardiff last season there's no way I'll be heading down there tomorrow. For all Mills' comments about "hating losing" I still think there's uncertainty in the club rather than a 100 per cent commitment to winning. For that reason we'll never seek to completely annihilate opponents but will always reach a stage against decent sides where, if we're ahead, we'll simply focus on defending the lead instead of extending it. This will always leave decent teams with a chance and, given our still limited scoring potential and tendency to concede goals against most everyone I can't see us getting better than a low-score draw. And, if Cardiff contain, then counter at pace, I can see us getting beaten. Ruthless football is about dominating physically, mentally and spiritually. But I'd only give us 5.5/10 for physical strength and fitness, 5/10 for mental toughness and barely 5/10 for our philosophical or spiritual strength. It's not enough. We don't really shine in Wales at the best of times and the above assessments point to the reasons why. All we've added is ability in certain quarters (basically goalkeeper and centre-forward). But in terms of commitment to winning we've added very little. We don't show the fitness to press relentlessly for 90 minutes, the mental desire to destroy teams when we get on top or the uncompromising belief in sustained, constructive attack. Sooner than continue attacking as time ticks on, we'll defend a lead by going so far and then giving the ball to the opposition to try again - as at Coventry and Forest. It isn't the way. Just as bad, we still don't have potential goals in enough places and we still have significant positional weaknesses. Television might help but my expectation is 2-1 to Cardiff with a 1-1 draw the best I'm anticipating if Mills' focus is all he suggests. .
stockyfox Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 And Thracian, my friend, you could be absolutely be spot-on. I wouldn't deny you that because as we both know, history bears you out. But as I said, there was something about last week's performance that was so different and potentially exciting and the key was Beckford. That lad is an inspiration. One instance last week, at the Kop end, he was running away from the goal towards the corner flag when he suddenly screwed the ball round 90 degrees and it just went ovr the bar. With Schmeichel at the back and Beckford leading at the front, we have energy!
phillthefox Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 Beckford and king city win 2-1, think we will find it harder against boro , but hate cardiff shithole...... gonna be a long week of travel but 6 points will do nicely sven.....
buzzy Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 it all depends on what team decide to turn up and what formation he plays god hope he goes for 442
