StanSP Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 It is kind of retarded though. You're just trying to think of ways of getting out of a fine when in all honesty you've been the one in the wrong, just looking for a sneaky way out
Father Ted Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Bet you only read the thread to see whether I'd created another 'retarded' post. Tosser Well, it is retarded. Im not being funny but you parked on double yellows so you get a parking fine no matter what the circumstances were. No matter how many lies and excuses you make up, you wont get out of it.
21st Century Fox Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 You do realise this is an online admission of your guilt. Lets hope no one at the appeal hearing reads FoxesTalk

Which bit do you think I was lying about? I'm not looking for a sneaky way out, it just ****s me off getting fined to park near your own house. Only had to go out to sort my mates heating out as well. And I didn't charge him!

How are you not getting this?!

The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 October 2011 Author Posted 20 October 2011 When you mentioned if your car broke down. And what StanSP said. Never said my car had broken down. I wondered whether you'd be able to have it overturned had someone got a fine after breaking down on doubles
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 October 2011 Author Posted 20 October 2011 How many times - they don't give a fuck what your reason is! You parked on a yellow line?! How are you not getting this?! I am getting it! I'm not trying to reason with them. I only posted to ask the question, to which I got the answer to. I even admitted it sounds obvious when in black and white. As for the post you highlighted, I was only commenting that I'd gone round to do my mate a favour. That's no excuse.
Criggers Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 I parked on the single yellows on Uni road last Saturday when i was queuing for Kasabian tickets. I genuinely thought it was no parking Mon-Fri 7.30-6pm. At about 10.30 am I had this awful feeling that it was Mon-Sat no parking and that I was going to get a parking ticket. So with my place in the queue well covered in our group I took a walk back and would you believe it there are two men in pruple jackets working their way up the road. I walked over to my car and spot it doesn't have a ticket on it yet. So I ask the Wardens where I can park and they tell me that further down the road opposite the pay & display the road has no markings which means they can't put a ticket on and its free to park. Double bonus! So I moved it up the road, parked up and rejoined the queue in place. I had rang my bro in the queue to check nobody else was parked there. unfortunately the only lad who was had gone for a coffee and got back 5 mins too late and was smacked round the face with a £35 fine. What I am trying to say is, I shouldn't have parked there but I got lucky. The other lad shouldn't have parked there and wasn't so lucky. You shouldn't have parked your car where you did and weren't so lucky either. I bet most people have had a parking ticket at some point. I can only remember getting one parking ticket and that was because I got back to my car in a pay & display 8 minutes (seriously, 8 MINUTES!) late and had a £25 fine! That hurt. Especially when you consider the fact I paid £1.80 for 2 hours and then had to pay £25 for 8 minutes
JadeFalcon Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 if they spell anything wrong or any other detail is incorrect, the ticket is not valid.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 I parked completely legally the other day in a car park j town and got a ticket from a private company for £125 reduced to £75 if paid in 7 days - they kiss my hairy brown eye if they think they're getting a ****ing penny out of me - they've got mare chance of seeing the pope in L1 shouting at the away fans.

My mate got one off a private firm in the estate the other side of the bridge to the boating lake near the ground. Hasn't paid and has not heard anything since. if they spell anything wrong or any other detail is incorrect, the ticket is not valid. Nicey
Houdini Logic Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Can anyone remember the person trying to get us to a sign a petition to get their friend out of prison for assaulting a traffic warden on the basis that they were a Leicester fan This topic is one of the few where I'm proud of the foxestalk masses - park illegally, pay up and shut up

21st Century Fox Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Might work but that example is for an actual error that meant the name of the road didn't exist due to a word missing, they might not be as kind in a case where the road is adjoined by a few hundred metres, especially with photographic evidence. Never know though.
AoWW Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Nicey However, if you get away with it this time on a technically you can be bloody sure they'll get you next time you decide to do the same!

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Having issued a few hundred tickets myself, I can tell you now that you have no chance whatsoever, of having your ticket cancelled. Your excuse, is pretty poor. I am not saying I dont believe you, but just accept it, and learn your experiece.
DB11 Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Is it true that if the double yellows are broken in anyway along the road, then the double yellow lines are not valid?
AyewJoking Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Is it true that if the double yellows are broken in anyway along the road, then the double yellow lines are not valid? no The original topic reminds me of the time I couldnt park to do my grocery shopping so I chanced it in a disabled zone, on a Saturday. Unsurprisingly, I received a ticket and it was so unfair.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Is it true that if the double yellows are broken in anyway along the road, then the double yellow lines are not valid? Yes, that most certainly is true. Many is the time I could have issued a ticket, but for that.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 If you appeal, you'll just end up with a doubled fine, save yourself the money and effort and pay it ASAP. I got caught parking on Grasmere Street 15 minutes too early once (before it went resident permit); very rare a council parking ticket gets overturned.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Yes, that most certainly is true. Many is the time I could have issued a ticket, but for that. I can not believe someone as pleasant and non-confrontational as you would be a Traffic Warden...

It does say if its rejected the usual discount period will be offered.
