Kitchandro Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 And what if your "right manager" doesn't get us promoted? Will you start supporting another "right manager" instead? Fickle, oh so fickle. I don't even know what you're getting at. I support the club, I judge the manager, I don't have a say in whether the manager goes or not as I'm not vocal about it on matchdays. You just seem blinded by anger at the moment, lets see who we appoint. If it's someone terrible then fine say so, but I'd still expect you to support the team and if we are still where we are in a year I expect you to be outraged if he's sacked as well. And in the same situation, I will be equally as not outraged. We may not know if the appointment is the right manager until the end of the season. But I know it's not Sven right now.
z-layrex Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Sven fired. Even tho we are only 2 points off the playoff pack, competing well in probably the toughest league on the world this year, all with a brand new squad that will take at least a whole season to learn to play together. **** football, **** Leicester City.
nickelbyfox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Even though it is very unfair they did give Sven everything, money, pre season to sweden, were always positive and after last season where the same thing happened and we fell short at the last hurdle, he has essentially been given two bites at the apple. So even though it may be a tad immature we have a great squad that a manager coming in can work with. Personally don't agree with the decision but am going to reserve my judgement to see who replaces him as sven wasn't amazing this year
samuel Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Good move all around......Get someone in who has a plan B.....Sven hasn't had one since Ulrika binned him....

Excuse me - but weren't you one of those guys blinded by anger for months now? Well, you're vocal enough about your dislike for Sven on here, so you're a bit chicken if you don't do the same on matchdays, aren't you? Comes the end of the season, we might just as well be still sitting somewhere in the middle of the table, having done one step forward and one backward each two games. How's the champagne, btw?
EnglishOxide Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Been to many games? You can see that we don't look organised, as well as not being motivated or consistant. Its not good enough considering Sven spent millions. We lost 0-3 to a team in the bottom three! Sven spent millions and still couldn't get it right; he didn't even play with wide men. Face it the fact Sven has gone, and move on. 5 clean sheets from the last 8 games isn't organised? Arguably, if Mills wasn't suspended we wouldn't have conceded 3 to Milwall either. And what is Leicester fans obsession with wide men. Is that your only tactical insight? (Four four two innit). Traditional wingers weren't needed against Southampton, Brighton or Derby, so what makes you think they are the only solution? One of Svens very few weaknesses was getting the team to be consistent, but that comes with time, relys on players and was starting to come to fruition anyway.

I do not think we look organised, but thats my opinion. I don't think Mills would have prevented the 3 Millwall goals. Most teams who have won promotion from this league have played with wingers. What does our manager do? He signs too many central midfielders and tries to accomodate them all, so we end up having holding men playing out wide. We spoke to Ali Moughlen before the Brighton game, and even he said there is no width. It is not hard, and in my opinion, it should be something like 4-4-2. You have picked out Southampton, Brighton and Derby. The home games we won. And I think that was due to the fact that these teams came and attacked. We fail to break down teams that sit and double over, such as Millwall. Because we play with no wingers, our full backs have no support. They go forward, but then have to check back because they have no support in front of them. This can then lead to goals, such as Millwall's second goal. "One of Sven's very few weaknesses" - What about signing too many central midfielders? Players not looking motivated? etc I don't know how long you wanted to wait, to be quite honest.

Firstly, I'm not blinded by anger, I feel the same about our team days after the game. Secondly, no, it doesn't make me a chicken for not booing or chanting Eriksson out. I'm sure you'd have a go at me for that, so don't be petty and try and have a go at me for not doing it. And yes, we may be doing one step forward one step back with the new manager, which would be no worse than now. OR we could be challenging for promotion.
smallpauldj Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 yes we are just 2 points from the play offs but after a year its no closer than we have ever been of getting into the play offs. before a ball was kicked we was talking about 1st or 2nd place and now your all happy with 6th. the only thing that will make me think the wrong decision has been made is if Mclaren turns up.
dannythefox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 No thanks. Ha Ha yeh right your off your head if you wouldn't have him back.

All you've done in the past 12+ months is criticising the manager. Didn't even have the guts to praise him and the team when we were playing well. Yes, you are a chicken. Playing the oh so smart bully on an internet forum, but not daring to speak out in public. But hey, of course you saw that one coming too, right? If you're happy with one step forward, one backwards you're a disgrace for having had the nerve to support the Sven Out! bus. See you again at the end of the season.

Dry your eyes, you're really starting to sound like a blubbering child. Calling people names like 'chicken' and 'bully'. Frankly I'm finding it hilarious. Explain how it makes me a chicken for not booing the players whom I want to succeed? You are quite embarrassing.
EnglishOxide Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I do not think we look organised, but thats my opinion. I don't think Mills would have prevented the 3 Millwall goals. Wow. Him and Bamba don't concede against Boro, Derby, Brighton and Cardiff (all free scoring teams), but they would definately have conceded 3 to Milwall? I can't believe anybody would believe that with such conviction. What was the result of the Brighton game again? When we play 4-3-3 Vassell and Dyer/Nuge/Beckford provide the width with the full backs backing up. I don't understand how you have justified your point. You have picked out Southampton, Brighton and Derby. The home games we won. And I think that was due to the fact that these teams came and attacked. We fail to break down teams that sit and double over, such as Millwall. Fair point, but you seem to be doing everything to discredit Sven's good work. Alot of teams struggle against teams that come to sit back and defender compactly. "One of Sven's very few weaknesses" - What about signing too many central midfielders? Players not looking motivated? etc I don't know how long you wanted to wait, to be quite honest. I agree he signed one too many, but that was for the system he wanted to play. Clearly he wanted 3 very good central midfielders regardless of which formation he played. As for players not looking motivated, they all respected him and they all know what they are aiming for. This comes down to the old thing with Leicester fans about 'passhun'. Just because the players aren't always running around like headless chickens doesn't mean they aren't motivated or not trying.

I haven't cried for ages and my eyes have been dry all day, thank you. Would be nice of you to re-find those posts of appraisal for Sven and the team just to back it all up. All you wanted was success, right. Just without Sven-Göran Eriksson. THAT's embarrassing. Congratulations for having had a certain influence on the decision of the board to sack Sven. Long live your negativity. Hail Kitchandro!

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Spending millions. Not playing with width. Having central midfielders out wide. Loosing at home to teams in the bottom three. The team not looking organised. The team showing no effort. Take that into consideration. I think we have been the laughing stock for a few weeks, all eyes were on us at the start of the season. Well said. Sven was deservedly sacked.
Fox92 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Wow. Him and Bamba don't concede against Boro, Derby, Brighton and Cardiff (all free scoring teams), but they would definately have conceded 3 to Milwall? I can't believe anybody would believe that with such conviction. It was Bamba who conceded the penalty? Could Mills have prevented that? No. What was the result of the Brighton game again? When we play 4-3-3 Vassell and Dyer/Nuge/Beckford provide the width with the full backs backing up. I don't understand how you have justified your point. The Brighton performance was poor though, regardless of the result. We were lucky not to concede, when Mackail-Smith missed a good chance. I don't understand what you mean. I agree he signed one too many, but that was for the system he wanted to play. Clearly he wanted 3 very good central midfielders regardless of which formation he played. Its got nothing to do with pashion, the players didn't look bothered to me.
Corky Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Its got nothing to do with pashion, the players didn't look bothered to me. So it does have something to do with passion then.
smudgerfox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 The decision to sack him is a bad one for the same reason it was a bad decision to appoint him. It's the wrong decision at the wrong time for the wrong reasons. Sven was appointed on his reputation - which isn't borne out in footballing fact - he then made an ill-advised dash for promotion with loan signings - instead of getting us up the table and then laying the foundations for this season. That meant all the rebuilding had to be done in the summer - most of which was spent trying to sign any striker who'd scored in consecutive games. it's hard to argue against any of the individual signings but they don't fit together just as many of them didn't last season. Sven's treatment of players who were here before him who, unlike him, got us into the play-off positions, was contemptuous. It's all very well signing the stars who are a bit short of regular Premiership football (yak, Bednar, kamara, Cunningham, Nugent, Johnson et al) but they don't get you out of the Championship. Look at the Swansea, Norwich and QPR squads last season. Helguson, Pratley, Holt, Houlihan - hardly household names. Sven was appointed because he is famous and I've no doubt his successor will be chosen on the same basis.it will be an emotional decision or a marketing decision, not a football one. And we'll be treated to unhappy players (players love Sven because he runs such a slack regime) a new manager frustrated because he can't bring in his own players - in other words an exact replica of last season. The decision to torpedo NFP who was building a strong club and squad, looks more and more disastrous as time passes.
