His reputation is/was about on par with Sven's....and Sven went to Notts County ffs. If the money is right then people will consider it....just like in any walk of life....so I personally am not ruling that out...although I admit it seems unlikely.

I'm thinking Globally - as a name and someone to attract the fanbase. That seems to be a big part of the Owners plans for expansion.

I'd love MON as much as anybody else, but just worry his previous reputation maybe tinged with us, if he was unsuccessful if he came back.

Now I'm thinking maybe we need a Manager - not necessarily a global brand face for the Thais - to get us into the Premier first i.e. Billy Davies or Dave Jones. Then, if they're unsuccessful, we'd get rid for a Manager who the Thais would covert i.e. Ancelotti etc. Sounds cruel, but I think before we can globally brand ourselves we need to reach the promised land first.

Did well at Blackburn, okish at City and well at Fulham.

Knows English football, plays decent football and is a motivator

Some of his signings at Man City were pretty questionnable considering the money he had. Obviously he got a few great ones but quite a bit of shit as well.

He did quite well at Balckburn and Fulham but he already inherited a good side at Fulham.

I don't think he's the worst option but not the best, I think he is a solid manager but not one with that much potential.

Why do eople assume this is a massive pressure cauldron?

The last guy got 12-15million, unlimited wages and a year in charge before getting the boot being the bottom half.

Go down to West Ham and see their fans, they were baying for blood after 3 games in charge for Sam. But they have ground it through the opening weeks and sit second despite not playing well. That's what a manager like Allardyce does.

Hughes did ok at Blackburn as far as I can remember. Wales doesn't really count as relevant experience in my book. And then he has two short and strange spells at Man City and Fulham. I've nothing against the guy, but I don't know why he is being given a high rating based on that record at all.
