Can't understand why people wouldn't want Hughes?

Did well at Blackburn, okish at City and well at Fulham.

Knows English football, plays decent football and is a motivator

Totally agree. Did well with Wales too. I don't see any blips on his CV.

Because I think most (myself included) have there heart set on mon, anyone else seems a disappointed, no??

Hughes will do a good job here.

Oneil would be great, but cant see it.

Other than the above two it would have to be Di Matteo for me.

I agree, simply nearly everyone wants Martin back. I just wonder if Martin's been on this forum.

I wouldn't mind either...but anyone ELSE would be a big disappointment. I really rate Lee Clarke too but think a job this size is a bit big for him at this moment.

My point is you both appear to be talking about why they (current owners) appointed him....for his name....and how they should have learned from that mistake. Whilst his appointment was no doubt intended with a view to a sale from Mandaric,....I've not seen anywhere that stated the Thai's had any hand in that nor was it in the terms of sale.

Well it's been widely suggested that the reason Pearson left was because these potential new owners wanted someone more suited to their branding. You don't have to believe that but I certainly do, in fact Pearson himself pretty much sad he was forced out so they could bring in Sousa. The Thais had alredy bought the club by the time Sousa was sacked so I'd think it highly likely that they requested a big name like Sven.
