Would love MON to return but my head says it will be sparky Hughes, it might just be a coincidence but al fayed was scathing about him this week in a sky story - because sparky left his job due to fulham 'lacking ambition' . Fayed's never one to miss a media opportunity and he's clearly very bitter, doubly so if Hughes does choose to drop a division to a team he sees as having more ambition.

Mark "Sparky" Hughes would not be a bad choice if O'God turns us down :dunno:

lol

Nugent > Fryatt

Mills > Hobbs

.Hobbs > st ledger

Tunch > st ledger and equal to Bamba and mills

Berner > ball & Konchesky

Fryatt > vassell in that he actually scores goals

Berner better than Konchesky?

Not at all.

Doesn't offer anything extra for me, defensively he seems to get skinned more and is not particularly positive going forward.

I can't believe Pearson's name is being mentioned, I love him for what he did on the pitch, but I am still bitter about the way he left, look at Sven's eloquent and emotional press statement thanking the club and the fans, Pearson lined up a deal with Hull and left without even a thought for the fans.

Fair enough he was pissed off with Mandy, but he left us for Hull regardless, a man of honour would have walked out before seeking employment elsewhere, exposing Mandy for the interferring, undermining, back stabbing **** that he was. Kind of like Martin would do, the way he left Villa was odd, but it was honourable.

On the subject of Martin, I presume we have made him an offer by now, if he is not interested then I don't want us to persue him it would only work if he was 100% committed, hopefully we will get a statement soon either ruling him out or confirming him as the manager.

If we don't get Martin I would be very happy with Mark Hughes, although he hasn't actually managed at this level he knows it better than an Ancellotti or Benitez type would and I think we would adapt to his style of play much faster than Ancelloti or Benitez, who undoubted pedigree that they are I fear we would lose quite a bit of ground getting the players and the managers understanding each other that this season would not be a successful one. Billy Davies types would probably bring in an instant change in style that may be successful in the short term but is probably not the man to lead us to where we want to be.

Megson's named has appeared at 20/1 with SkyBet :frusty: :frusty: :frusty: :frusty:

To be fair, mate, so have Slaven Bilic, Carlo Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez. What do we think we are, Championship or Champions League?

No danger. 20/1 means not fucking happening.

why not?? what makes martin o' neil better then?

... managerial experience?

Still though Megson is listed, something which is frightning even if he is probably 100 pecent certain of not getting the job.

Lee Clarks ruling himself out

Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark says he will not be applying for the vacant job at Leicester City.

The 38-year-old has been linked with replacing Sven-Goran Eriksson.

But Clark told BBC Radio Leeds: "I'm not applying for any job - I'm a Huddersfield manager working for a fantastic man and a fantastic board.

"Whether it's just to fill areas in newspapers, I don't know, but there has certainly not been any contact with me or my representatives."

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has also denied being interested in taking charge at the King Power Stadium.

He said: "I was a legend down there. It's a club that's very close to my heart but this club is far closer to my heart.

"I've had an affiliation with Leicester in the past, but my sole aim is to do well for Leeds.

"I'm totally focused on Leeds and that focus has never dwindled during my time at the club.

"I'm delighted things are going well here and I want to continue doing the job I've set out to do."

Former England Under-21 international Clark, who signed a new contract with the League One promotion hopefuls in July, added: "I've never had a phone call from Dean [Hoyle, the Huddersfield chairman] or [chief executive] Nigel Clibbens, to say that they've had contact.

"I'm here - I've never heard anything about any other job and that's the way it is.

"It's the same when my players get linked and you ask me. I think everyone should be proud inside the club if that's the case because it means we're doing something right.

Huddersfield drew 2-2 with Scunthorpe on Tuesday to extend their unbeaten run to 40 games.

And Clark added: "As you can see I was totally committed like always. I'm delighted we've made 40, and I'll be at the training ground in preparation for another tough game on Saturday."

Lee Clarks ruling himself out

Where does he rule himself out exactly? Not apply for a job does not mean you wouldn't take it if offered.

Simon Grayson " i was a legend down there " haha ....you were a good and well respected player but a legend ?????? Come off it Larry

Ha! I thought exactly the same - slight abuse of the word 'legend' there! He was a peripheral figure for a long time - got into the team and then buggered off to Villa!
