Finners, being a Welshy what would your take on Hughes be if he came here? He did the business for Wales didn't he?

Best manager we've had in my living memory. We played tidy football, were enthusiastic and most significantly the players all wanted to play for him.

Almost nobody withdrew from the squad with faked 'injuries' or showed the disinterest we're used to. He was so popular there was almost a revolt when he left. Sav may get a lot of stick but he was right to doubt Tosh after the abuse he gave Sparky.

I'd be disappointed with everyone but MON, but we could do much worse than Hughes. Give me him over Davies anyday.

I'll have a piece of that!

Jones, Davies and Keane have all taken teams up from this division...

Wolves, Derby and Sunderland... :dunno:

...and all went straight back down or got the sack the next season.

Granted, they've achieved promotion from this division, but not with their last clubs. Jones failed repeatedly with a talented Cardiff squad, Davies failed repeatedly with a good Forest squad and Keane got nowhere near with Ipswich.

I'm not saying they are bad managers and I'd support them if they came, but they aren't the calibre that warrants removing Sven at the time, and in the manner, that has happened.

Just heard from a reliable source Mark Hughes just been seen getting out of a car at the ground...

I'm not even a Leicester fan but heard last night that Hughes was at the ground being interviewed. Put a bit of cash on him at 6/1 straight away and he's 9/4 today so it's clear there's been a 'run' on him (this was Skybet). It could be bollocks but he fits the bill perfectly IMO.

Can I add that all of this would never have happened had the mega Maynard thread's been combined and allowed to be taken to 1 trillion posts - I know because I posted in the parellel universe Maynard thread a couple of days ago, because in this alternate reality we did sign him... and some wingers... and we are currently sitting at the top of the league with Sven all smilely, smilely.

Another feature of this other world at the moment is that Derby have remained crap, Greece are the richest country in the world after one of their citzens did some work and found they have millions of gallons of oil and Gaddafi has just won the noble peace prize. Think I might go back there now, there's bugger all for me in this reality.

Ha we're a mini Man City... which means it will take one more manager change and only another billion pounds to get promoted.

I heard rumors that three managers are set to be interviewed today

Bernies had his interview, and medical

Mines at 3.30 pm with a colonoscopy first and cough and drop

and Thracians at 4.00 pm, with a 30 minute rectum probing session included!!

HaHa. Yes, Mr AF, that last bastion of perfect common sense and reasonable argument. No idea if it's significant but there would appear to have been a sh*tload of wonga put on Hughes even since this morning. He's come in from 9/4 to 7/4 on Skybet (I got 6/1 late last night). He was actually still 6/1 this morning on Bet365 and now he's 11/4. Best deal at the moment is Victor Chandler at 5/1, an offer I'm about to take him up on. Hughes has of course happily worked for a Thai owner previously....

will soften the blow for me if he does come as not really keen on him myself..

I'm of the opinion that only one manager is being interviewed, personally. The board clearly had someone in mind BEFORE they got rid of Sven. If that person was out of work there would have been no problem approaching him a while ago.
