I don't see what these guys have over Sven to be honest.

Sure I'd give MON a go if he really wanted to come back. Otherwise it needs to be some very high profile guy.

Klinsmann perhaps.

Proof that Hughes has actually shortened from 5/1 to 3/1 on Hills even though they've gone for crazily short odds on MON.

MARK HUGHES and Lee Clark are the men who have seen money on Tuesday morning in the betting on the next permanent Leicester manager.

Hughes is 5-1 second-favourite with Hills and Victor Chandler, and as short as 2-1 with Ladbrokes, the lunchtime after the Monday night when Sven-Goran Eriksson left the Foxes by mutual consent and Martin O'Neill was the subject of a plunge to replace him at the King Power Stadium helm.

Huddersfield boss Clark, whose charges are looking to make it 40 games unbeaten in League One, is still 12-1 with Bet365 but as short as 4-1 with Betfred to swap Yorkshire for the East Midlands.

O'Neill has drifted to a 5-4 favourite with Paddy Power

Why are you sooooo kean on O´ Neil?

He has been good before at Leicester but as many people say including mee don´t go back to a.......everyone expect all being as before we are king and with Martin we are god (not messiah) :)

But what happens if we not get in top 6? He is sad, he is worse then ....

Will he take the chance with his reputation?

Next Mr. Hughes why not he replace Sven at City and how long was he there?

No let the man who left for Charlton come back this would be the best and perhaps Sven back as an backup.

This is not a joke if you think so it would be the best for our team :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Im new to this, first post, joined after svens dismissal and wanted to see what people were thinking. got to say im gutted, still getting over it, but obviouly with big money owners theres high expectations.

Would be well chuffed with MON return! Still not sure its a good decision to lose sven, but looking forward it all hangs on this appointment.

Me.

3 league titles. 2 league cups. 1 county cup. All in 5 seasons. Put's me ahead of McClaren, Curbs, Grayson, Robins, and load of others.

Senior League experience in a side that saw appearances for Izzet, Walsh and Thorpe (who?)

My mandate will be success based on an effective formation without Andy King

I voted Billy Davies, just because I think he's a more realistic choice than MON.

I'd be over the moon if MON did get the job though. Just can't see it happening.

I would expect an announcement tomorrow......if they already had a replacement lined up and I think they did.

Edit: Hughes has come in from 5/1 to 10/3 on Victor Chandler in the last 30 mins. MON gone from 10/11 to 5/4 with the same bookie.

1.I want MON but not sure if he will come.

2.Not sure about Hughes was a good player not so good at being a manager.

3.Billy Davis is a good manager but i dont like him and really not sure if he could handle it when we get to the prem. (name not big enough)

4.Dont want Keane he will just walk out if we lose the first game. (name not big enough)

i hate all this I know this ive been told that - all that counts for is words on a screen right now. really pointless posts... you could say that just by looking at the odds lol. this is not a dig at you just IMO pointless.

Look at the 500 threads off Maynard nothing happened no one knows shit but the Thia and the man being talked to.

Not sure if any one has reported this yet, but a couple of my friends or ex colleagues who work at Stapleford Park hotel have said that O'neill was there today with the owners.

Interesting if he is in talks at least.

I hope you disown them as friends when you find out they were lying. ;)

Having thought about it today I've got a feeling it's Hughes. It would be the typical option - boring, no charisma, not known for playing attractive football, has managed in the Premier League reasonably but is never going to be any more than a reasonable manager. Plus I've never liked his tendency to blame the ref for every defeat, he's worse than Warnock in that way.

Now O'Neill or Di Matteo - they are choices that might excite me somewhat. One is clearly a standout candidate whilst the other is young, ambitious, confident and gets his team playing football that might inspire the public.

I'm not going to let myself beilive this.

That's fine, and I was the same at first...again I'm only going on 2nd hand info. But it is 2nd hand info from 3 different people. Having said that, only one claims to have seen him with the owners....other 2 sources just said he was there.

Surely O'Neill would be mad not to meet with the owners and talk surely they are going to offer him a deal he'll find hard to refuse and wave their chequebook at him or at least I hope this is what they will be doing
