Lee Clark ( with a director of football) ?

Lee Clarke, in my view could be the next success at Prem level as a young manager having 'cut his teeth' in the lower leagues. If it is not with us, it will be with some other club, sometime.

He is the new favourite - William Hill, evens - Skybet 8/13.

I cannot see him being our manager with the complete remit. He would need someone with worldwide contacts to help with bringing in the higher quality players.

Avram Grant would be nobody's choice as manager, including me, but he is highly respected across the world of football and to the point where few who might be available can equal him. ( The only other I can think of would be Sven ).

If we did not have a 'high profile' manager I thing Top would definitely want a high profile player or two.

Avram Grant is probably the sort of bloke who could get them, based on his contacts worldwide.

Yeah let's take on an absolute nobody to get us to the promised land after sacking a top level manager.

he has already said he isn't interested

I though Lee Clarke said he had no intention of applying for any vacant managerial vacancies, and that his Chairman and Vice Chairman had not been approached by other clubs. Quite different to saying he would not be interested - of course he would !

Do you mean the guy who's still trying to get Huddersfield promoted from League 1?

He's had 3 1/2 seasons at the Galpharm Stadium! What makes you think he can do a better job at he KP?

I know it is only division one, but three more matches undefeated and I believe 43 consecutive games without defeat would beat the previous record of 42 held by Brian Clough, who had also been a 'nobody' at Hartlepool as their manager.

If the best we can stoop too is Lee Effin Clarke we are seriously in the shite!? Unproven in the Championship I don't care what his record

is this would be a mighty step backwards!!

Would rather have Chris Powell a man who knows what players we already have at the club and is doing ok at Charlton.

As for Avram Grant .................................Oh Dear?! How that man keeps getting work in football management god only knows.

NO. HE. HASN'T. Can people not read?

Oh and Chris Powell has a better record this season, lets get him. Or Megson at Sheff Wed his record is almost as good.

Ha, it keeps driving me mad reading that as well.

Can we not get Mark Hughes. Did a good job at man city, no doubt he's holding out for premier club

Lee Clarke maybe a bit risky

well id rather take a chance with clarke, than end up with billy no mate`s davies!

I would rather choose a manager for what we need right now and what they have done previously, and not worry about whether they are a lovely friendly bloke. We made that mistake before by not getting Warnock.

Paul Ince had a good record at Macclesfield & MK before Blackburn took a chance on him...

With the expectations of our owners I can't see them going for anyone that hasnt had experience in either the C'ship or Prem

My goodness I really cant believe we find ourselves in this mess. Last week we had a manager with a big name and reputation, yes some big questions being asked but time still to get it right and no real crisis.

Now we find ourselves rudderless, no prospect it appears of the only option that seems logical if not Sven (Mon) and scrabbling about with the usual list of nomarks and unprovens. I am completely gutted and just want to see it sorted, wish that the Thais would realise they messed up and go and ask Sven to come back. Failing that I dont know why but i,m warming to the OGS idea but probably only on the basis that hes not the other people on the list most of whom seem a considerable step down from where we were.

Sad,sad,sad

:unsure::cry: :cry: :(

Where was O'Neill before norwich? Pearson had only just saved soton from relegation. Fergie started at aberdeen or where ever it was. Brian Clough started lower down. Clark is a top manager who should have got huddersfield promoted automatically last year on their points but didnt because soton and brighton also got very high points total. Also Chrissy P hardly knows most of the squad now.13 players in there he doesnt know and he's never gone 40 games unbearen. Clark would be a great choice

Chris Powell ? players mate's never do any good managing !

What made me feel sick last week , hearing certain players saying how much they enjoy playing under Sven...

Not Healthy !!!! ...............the succesful teams dont play a happy game ........

Agreed.

And now I'm hearing worrying things about Clark from a few Huddersfield fans on various boards.

But what Top said about Championship experience reassures me a bit.

O'Neill got Wycombe promoted like 3 years in a row or something, Clark has apparently had the largest budget in the Championship and has not got them up in 3 years. I didn't know all of this but this is making me rethink him being a good choice.
