lcfc_sam_p Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 It was obvious he wasn't in talks, a day before a game.
dannythefox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 It was obvious he wasn't in talks, a day before a game. That means fvck all!
steveherbe Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Contact at Talksport reports we HAVE asked permission to speak to Clark. As he puts it, a short list of 1.
artursteppe Posted 28 October 2011 Author Posted 28 October 2011 So what you really mean is who should the DOF be if we get a young manager?? ie the best man for the DOF Absolutely. I just can't see us going for a young manager with a possible future without there being a mentor. Who would be best in that role. ( I think we can exclude Sven ).
ch4mbo Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Just been told that Lee Clark Really REALLY wants the job. So if Leicester want him it very much could happen!
Master Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Just been told Lee Clark does not want the job. Happy where he is.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Absolutely. I just can't see us going for a young manager with a possible future without there being a mentor. Who would be best in that role. ( I think we can exclude Sven ). A DOF doesn't necessarily have to be someone with a wealth of managerial experience who can 'mentor' a younger manager. Nick Hammond at Reading for example. JUST BEEN TOLD HE LOVES THE COCK!
artursteppe Posted 28 October 2011 Author Posted 28 October 2011 I still think that if it is Lee Clark we will get a 'name' in to be DOF.
ch4mbo Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Just been told Lee Clark does not want the job. Happy where he is. I hate to disagree with you but........
Master Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I hate to disagree with you but........ You're gay. That's fine. I love gays. We all love gays here. Basically everyone here is gay.
artursteppe Posted 28 October 2011 Author Posted 28 October 2011 If Lee Clark comes, what about Kevin Keegan as DOF? It is rumoured he is interested in the manager's job, why not DOF. Young promising manager with a BIG name in world football as his mentor. It does not sound that bad an idea, and not beyond the realms of possibility.
wellyfox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Absolutely. I just can't see us going for a young manager with a possible future without there being a mentor. Who would be best in that role. ( I think we can exclude Sven ). ERRRMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Sven by a country mile n we just fvcking sacked him. Why Sven. He has shown he is a gentleman and would listen and guide not tell a manager what to do. Also has more contacts than most in this country.
whoareyaaa Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Id rather have my gran in the seat than Lee Clarke
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I do wonder why Sven was sacked rather than moved upstairs? I can only guess its about money Sven proved himself to be a good ambassador.. A respected person with contacts and appeal better in this respect than an actual manager IMO. Perhaps his sacking was hasty.. A manager for the team with Sven as a mentor could have worked very well.. Why not.. The Thais have gotten rid of a bloke who could have been very important for the club, just in a different capacity.

Totally agree with this but maybe Sven didnt want this type of role, but yeh it would have been better to have him as DOF and then brought someone like De Matteo in to manage the team.

Maybe. But someone like MON would never have agreed to having someone like Sven sitting over him !! Most managers of pedigree would push back at that, I suspect.

Talks expected soon if given go-ahead #HTAFC Why wait five days to make an approach that, even if successful, could take plenty more days to wrap up?? The owners haven't exactly covered themselves in glory this week IMO. This sort of move should and could have been made on Monday evening. Anyway, from a selfish POV I hope it comes off because I've got him at 7/1 with Hills (granted I'm not exactly the most skilful betting man as I've also got Sparky at 6/1 )

Clark is second choice Just a thought

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I'd be relatively pleased with this. Was calling for him as a potential candidate just before Sven got the chop.
