Corky Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 NO. HE. HASN'T. Can people not read? Oh and Chris Powell has a better record this season, lets get him. Or Megson at Sheff Wed his record is almost as good. It's happened before, it could again.....
yorksfox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Forget about Lee Clark - he's had massive financial backing at Huddersfield but still they can't get promoted - just watch Charlton and Sheff Wednesday edge us out this season. Much of the football in the unbeaten run has been dire and it has of course included defeats in the Play off final (3-0 to Posh) and the JPT Semi final (4-0 to bloody Carlisle). When the pressure has really been on Clark's team have not come up with the goods.
Nick Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 My goodness I really cant believe we find ourselves in this mess. Last week we had a manager with a big name and reputation, yes some big questions being asked but time still to get it right and no real crisis. Now we find ourselves rudderless, no prospect it appears of the only option that seems logical if not Sven (Mon) and scrabbling about with the usual list of nomarks and unprovens. I am completely gutted and just want to see it sorted, wish that the Thais would realise they messed up and go and ask Sven to come back. Failing that I dont know why but i,m warming to the OGS idea but probably only on the basis that hes not the other people on the list most of whom seem a considerable step down from where we were. Sad,sad, sad
Guest MattP Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Agreed. And now I'm hearing worrying things about Clark from a few Huddersfield fans on various boards. But what Top said about Championship experience reassures me a bit. Hope you are right but Top has said a couple of things he hasn't kept his word on

muzzy1981 Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Can we not get Mark Hughes. Did a good job at man city, no doubt he's holding out for premier club Lee Clarke maybe a bit risky
Kitchandro Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Hope you are right but Top has said a couple of things he hasn't kept his word on I don't see any reason why he'd say that if that's not what he wanted though. Surely it would have been better to say 'there isn't any specific criteria, we just want someone to have the necessary qualities to get us promoted', than to say something like that if it's not true? Hopefully anyway.
muzzy1981 Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Annoyed that we would get rid of sven, when there isn't a truly suitable candidate out there. Lee Clarke has a great record but not achieved anything yet, could take him a ling time to adapt to a squad like us.
dannythefox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 He said in an interveiw today hes committed to the club but doesnt no what will happen if we people come calling! If we get him i will not be pleased!
Fox92 Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 he has already said he isn't interested Just heared an interview with Lee Clark. He said the chairman hasn't been approached, which to me is different to ruling himself out. He did also say that the rumours are now getting bigger, and he doesn't want the rumours to distract the performance of the Huddersfield players for Yeovil. I would welcome Lee Clarke here, I think Stevie Howard would as well!! Anyway, if he isn't appointed, best of luck to Huddersfield.
Fox92 Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 If the best we can stoop too is Lee Effin Clarke we are seriously in the shite!? Unproven in the Championship I don't care what his record is this would be a mighty step backwards!! Would rather have Chris Powell a man who knows what players we already have at the club and is doing ok at Charlton. As for Avram Grant .................................Oh Dear?! How that man keeps getting work in football management god only knows. Chris Powell is unproven at this level as well. I'd rather have Clark than Powell. And a lot of changes have been made since Powell was here. Get off of this "hasn't got Championship experience stuff" - where do you think Martin O'Neill came from? Eddie Howe? Paul Lambert? Nigel Adkins? The lower divisions. Clark has turned Huddersfield around, and I'd welcome him to Leicester if he wanted to come.

Clark has been charge at the League One Terriers since December 2008. Not counting last season’s play-off final defeat, Town’s 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe on Tuesday extended their unbeaten run to 40 games. The 39-year-old’s odds for the post were slashed on Thursday, and he is now favourite to join the Foxes. Big-spending Leicester are searching for a replacement for Sven Goran Eriksson, who was sacked on Monday. The Thai-owned Championship club had hoped to quickly and quietly lure back former boss O’Neill, but he is holding out for a Premier League job. Billy Davies is also in the frame but is hampered by previous spells at local rivals Derby Read more: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Leicester-want-Lee-Clark-of-Huddersfield-as-their-new-manager-article822115.html#ixzz1c1M6U3fG Sign up for MirrorFootball's Morning Spy newsletter Register here

Happy Fox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Do you have to agree compensation before you can interview someone?

Sad,sad, sad  This is completely over the top! How do you know we are 'scrabbling about for nomarks and unprovens'. Nothing will come out of the club until there is an appointment. It's all just speculation - they are not going to tell us about everybody they are interviewing/approaching. It's certainly not a crisis just because we have sacked a manager, this happens all the while (particularly at Leicester). Yes we are rudderless at the moment but that wont be for long.
Happy Fox Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 Lee Clark or Roy Keane? Has to be Clark for me
Happy Fox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I have heard that we will approach Clark today. [/quote Good news
tomtom Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 Just been on talksport we've asked to talk to Clark
dannythefox Posted 28 October 2011 Posted 28 October 2011 I have heard that we will approach Clark today. Not saying he couldn't do a job but come on he's in league one ffs i thought the idea of getting rid of Sven was to get someone better!
