ozleicester Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 My Mrs said.. "oohh whos he?, Ive heard of him" So that would make it a fair bet that he is the name the Owners are looking for!
topharry123 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 I've always been a fan of Keegan. He just seems to have something that I like and I would like to see him here.
bettso Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Wouldn't complain at this at all. Plays good football, managed in the league before (albeit a while ago), well known for the owners brand and would have no trouble attracting players. Ginola as first team coach perhaps?
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Would do the job i think, and hope.
MikeyT Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Or, he'll walk away at the first sign of trouble.
Callabinho Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 No. Just as poor as old Gordon strachan, really hasn't done much for me! And as the above post he would walk away as soon as we loose a game, steer well clear!
Mack Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Lets remember. For the owners this is not just an exercise in employing the best man for the job, but moreover it's about employing someone who will create high profile for their venture back in Thailand. The more I think about Keegan the more I realise he fits their criteria perfectly. He's got Championship pedigree also with Man City.
Ric Flair Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Hahahahahahaaaa this is brilliant, bum chin back in the mix!
21st Century Fox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 From Wikipedia.. Keegan was unable to inspire Fulham to overcome Grimsby Town in the playoffs, but good form in 1998–99 – helped by the acquisition of many players who would normally have been beyond the budgets of most Division Two clubs – clinched them the Division Two title and promotion to Division One, but Keegan left at the end of the season to concentrate on his duties as England manager, having succeeded Glenn Hoddle in February 1999. He certainly seems to fit the bill.
sphericalfox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Thracian might explode. All the more reason to consider him for the job?
MikeyT Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2054879/Leicester-target-Kevin-Keegan-Lee-Clark-replace-Sven-Goran-Eriksson.html Kevin Keegan has emerged as a shock target for Leicester City, possibly as part of a management team with Lee Clark. The ambitious Championship club, who dispensed with the services of Sven Goran Eriksson on Monday, are planning to ask Huddersfield for permission to speak to their highly-rated manager Clark. However, Leicester also want former England, Newcastle, Fulham and Manchester City boss Keegan, who has been out of football for three years and is now a television pundit for ESPN. Dream team? Leicester City are keen on getting Kevin Keegan and Lee Clark to lead them into the Premier League Mega-rich Thai owner Vichai Raksriaksorn has discovered that top targets Martin O’Neill and Mark Hughes have no interest in the job but Clark, who played for Keegan at Newcastle, could be in line for a head-coach role if Keegan was happy to become the club’s director of football. But earlier this week, Clark said: 'I'm not applying for any job - I'm a Huddersfield manager working for a fantastic man and a fantastic board.' Foxes vice-chairman Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn made it clear this week what the objectives of the new man would be, he said: 'The next manager should be taking us to the Premier League and I think he has to know this league, because it's very tough, very tight.' Out in the cold: Sven Goran-Eriksson was sacked by Leicester after just over a year in charge Out in the cold: Sven Goran-Eriksson was sacked by Leicester after just over a year in charge Eriksson was in charge for just over a year but was sacked in the wake of Saturday's 3-0 home defeat by Millwall despite being just two points off the play-off places. The board were unhappy with Leicester's stuttering start to the season after splashing out £10m on new players. And Raksriaksorn revealed he was upset at Eriksson's departure, adding: 'Sven is a good man, a very, very nice man and actually I am sad, but life has to move on. I think he had to move on.'
artursteppe Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 I put it on the 'Lee Clark ( with a director of football )' thread I started - that Keegan could be Clark's DOF - I even amaze myself sometimes. As I said Keegan ticks all the boxes that Lee Clark doesn't. Alternatively, of course, the Daily Mail just picked the idea up from this site and printed it.
Libertine Dream Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 I like his score more than the opponents type of football and along with clark(who has huddersfield scoring plenty of goals every season) they could have us playing as a great to watch team.
tickler28 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Amazing record , he must be worth considering .... Imagine Derby away......."i would love it if we beat them.....love it (sheep shagging dirty f******* b*******)!"
somebum Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Oh come on, Director of football roles never work, neither will a Keegan / Clark duo since both men will want to be top dogs. I'd like one or the other, but not both, that is a recipe for disaster. I heard a scary name mentioned ... Venables.
ossieclap Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 We don't need Keegan. The new guy would want/need complete autonomy to get the job done correctly. Ask O'Neill what he would have thought about a Dalgiesh/O'Neill partnership at Celtic.....

Number 6 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Look at how many clubs he's walked away from, bottler, no thanks.
cc_star Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Keegan has proved on many occasions he's not the man to have under pressure, he's a quitter not a fighter. Where will we be when he throws his toys out the pram again? If he can do it to fans who think he's a god he'll do it to us.
Burmesefox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Eh? I was told he liked a bit of bum fun with the young trainees at Man City. That was the reason for him going. My mate was mates with a trainee there and it was aparently common knowledge. Not sure...just a rumour but my mate was nailed on convinced though.
wellyfox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Thracian might explode. How soon can we get him in anyone know?????
