Zingari Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Right then , I’ve completed my extensive calculations and I’d say No. It’s not possible until the moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter aligns with Mars.
haraven Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Back to school, young man! Order up some extra after-school math classes.
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 It won't happen. Ask me again once the new manager is in place and the squad starts to show its potential and I might change my mind. As things stand at the moment, no chance.
Bausor Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Its funny how everyone thinks palace have made a flying start!! Can they still make automatic promotion ? Everyone would say yes ! But if we win today we go above them in the table but apparntly we`ve had a not so good start mmmm. Yes its still possible, teams do and will have a bad run of form, if cov can score twice agaist the saints then it tells me other tougher tests will see them lose and once they do a la brighton might follow we do need a win today tho.
Foxy Bingo Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Hmm..well lets see. 31 games left meaning 93 points left to be won. We haven't got a chance
Corky Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 They will, their home form is formidable and that will keep them up there.
broughtonblue Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 No chance, I mean I doubt any team will change position in the next 6 months this one of the most predictable leagues in the world, might as well just stop the season now. This
itsblueupnorth Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Interesting question - I wonder if any team has ever been promoted that didn't win 2 games on the trot?
sbfox Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Remember Brighton's excellent start to the season? Remember how they haven't won in 9 games now? Yeah...
munf1987 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Yes - every team will have a dip in form. Its just has ours already been and gone or will there be more

I don't think palace will go up, punching above their weight. As for us possible? yep, likely? nope.
MGLCFC Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Lot's of ifs. If we had beaten Millwall, Bristol City, Reading and Forest we would be second with a game in hand. Unfortunately our form is too inconsistent at present to mount a serious promotion push, but a play off spot is more than realistic. I suppose it all depends how quickly a new manager can turn things around as there is a lot of talent in the squad and with the financial backing to add to it in January. However, it's not just about throwing money at the problem, it's making the players believe in what they are doing, grinding out results where necessary and getting that momentum and winning mentality that breeds confidence and an air of invincibility.
Marmite Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Were Sunderland not in the relegation zone at Christmas when Roy Keane took charge and they ended up winning the league. Bit of a stupid question in the first place really
acooling08 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 We're 9 points behind WHU with a game in hand and have 27 points alone to be won or lost between now and January 2012 But they're better than us, so the gap will only increase.
blueredswed Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 We can still do it. Keep the faith. YES WE CAN! I´m still wondering why Sven didn´t get time until christmas but that is that and the future is OURS :scarf:
acooling08 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 YES WE CAN! I´m still wondering why Sven didn´t get time until christmas but that is that and the future is OURS :scarf: Listen mate, I know you're a bit of a legend on the forum and your endless optimism and scarf smilies make my smile sometimes, but can't you be realistic? We are not good enough for automatic promotion.
wurmer Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 We're not sharp enough to go up - don't deserve to at the moment...
ta-fc Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 personally I feel another turbulent season with ANOTHER change of management basically means this season's a write off... No amount of statistical optimism supports otherwise...
Yojoe36 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 It is possible. But I'd take play-offs at the moment
blueredswed Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Listen mate, I know you're a bit of a legend on the forum and your endless optimism and scarf smilies make my smile sometimes, but can't you be realistic? We are not good enough for automatic promotion. I have saying this before! With our strong squad wait until March and you will see. Other teams get problems with injuries and so on.... And I like when you say that I can get you smiling so please smile on :scarf:
