Is automatic promotion still possible?

It is possible. But I'd take play-offs at the moment

The turnaround required in our consistency to even get in the playoffs i think is beyond us - 4 home defeats already, we only lost 4 at home all season in the NP play-off year, and none of the top 6 last year lost more than 4 at home. Just don't see it.

On the pitch, never in a month of Sundays

Were Sunderland not in the relegation zone at Christmas when Roy Keane took charge and they ended up winning the league.

No. They were out of the bottom three in early September. On Christmas Day they were 11th. Their record after Christmas was P22 W17 D3 L2.

So whilst possible, it's not exactly probable.

Alladyce said at the beginning of the season that no club in modern times has ever achieved automatic promotion with losing 8 games - we have now lost 6! We are NOT better than west ham and some people need to remove their blue tinted glasses.

When so many on here were making ridiculous predictions about City winning the league I consistently said that west ham would win this division and still believe it.

Look at it this way... Yesterday they brought on Carlton Cole, today we brought on Beckford...

The club is becoming embarrassing I'm afraid.. Things must improve surely and quickly

I love LCFC but am not surprised we are in this mess

Not bad for a team with a "borderline retard" as a manager...

What would our owners give for a manager who could produce a record like that for us this season? lol

no, anyone who thinks we have a chance of automatic promotion is having a laff!

Will next season be the same then another disappointment I bloody hope not FFS we still have a chance however unlikely that may be you never no the new manager may galvanize us

in our dreams...... who knows the new manager could come in then we might go on an unbeaten run or something, if you win 5 games on the trot in this division you will be right up the table, just look at brighton like 6 weeks ago they were near the top, now they have dropped right down. so things can change quickly

i recon we can get a playoff place

If you look at the number of managers we have had in the past few years, I think the answer is apparent. We don't give them time to build a team, which could take three to four years.

I feel sorry for the incoming manager, who will have "The Sword of Damacles" hanging over his head.

WHU win puts us 11 points behind them, looking very difficult for autos

WHU and Soton are consistent, we havent been as yet, good point away today but if you want automatic promotion you win games like today

Automatic promotion is possible, just unlikely. Southampton lost today, could their run of good form be coming to an end? I hope so! Every team will go through a blip we've had ours (hopefully) we'll continue to improve and as long Ad we are doing that nothing is impossible!

Automatic promotion is still achievable of course. There's tons of matches left to play

As I said at the start of the season, West Ham will win the League. Their squad is very strong at this level and in Nolan they have the best midfielder in the Division.

Then it's anyones... But probably Cardiff's
