JmorsonLCFC Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 tbf I think it's easier when people talk instead of roar. Perhaps I'm just a freak, but I understand words and not roaring noises. a wild lee evans appears
gw_leics772 Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 To the OP, Some of that is excellent. And this coming from a know nothing neanderthal when it comes to art. I am the kind of person that laughed his arse off at DB11s comment and has no interest in art, but I knows what I likes, and I likes that. Id buy some of that cos it looks good and it is based on my one true love LCFC. Please continue to update us and put prices on. I particularly like th Sean St Ledger one and if he actually learned how to play football in a Leicester Shirt I would love to have that on my wall (I am imagining him in a Steve Walsh type status, as wwhat you have done with the bade etc, is epic) Credit where its due you fluffy arty farty student ;o) Now get a proper job
Ashley Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 You need to study English. she DRAWN - it's she drew. The Doctor Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 err, I pointed out grammatical mistakes, not spelling mistakes.
Austin Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Some cracking bits in there from the OP .. Really like the St Ledger one
Finnegan Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Hopefully this will work http://s1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc464/LCFCArt/Leicester%20City%20Art/ Needs more Yuki. Good work though, mate, you've got a talent.
irDeano Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 You've never heard of 'Media Studies' then. Oi, I did A-Level Media
z-layrex Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Art isn't a proper A Level. My gf did art for a level, got her into graphic design, now she makes more money freelancing for big companies in london than most people do on this board. Doesnt sound too bad to me. Loads of money to be made in artisitc professions if you're any good.
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 tbf I think it's easier when people talk instead of roar. Perhaps I'm just a freak, but I understand words and not roaring noises. So why not use the correct words " to be fair " instead of tbf ? if you cannot help being so pedantic?
The Doctor Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 So why not use the correct words " to be fair " instead of tbf ? if you cannot help being so pedantic?  tbf is a commonly recognised abbreviation for to be fair. He/She/They drawn it is not an acceptable replacement for he/she/they drew it, it's the sort of sentence fragment used by 5 year old children when they don't know any better.
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Abbreviations can indeed be understood by the majority but not all. Try using abbreviations in a English test and see how many marks you would get. I'm just pointing out that it is lazy and should not be used by someone as well educated as yourself, especially as you see fit to berate others for their standard of English.
Ashley Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 err, I pointed out grammatical mistakes, not spelling mistakes. Al, stop taking things so seriously you only live once!
Petchy Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Out of interest, why are people giving this rep points? What's funnier than that though, is all the people getting serious over art and defending it.... More art students on here than I thought then!

If writing a form of flash fiction/poetry using anything but masses of abbreviations would get you lower marks. I also know of an exam where you have to discuss brevity in text messaging, you may not get marks for abbreviations but if it wasn't for abbreviations you'd struggle to get any marks.
The Doctor Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Al, stop taking things so seriously you only live once! Well that depends on whether the concept of reincarnation is true doesn't it?

If this is true , and I have little reason to doubt it , then it just shows how low test standards have become. It highlights the fact that so few were achieving good results they had to allow abbreviations in order for these cretins to pass even basic standards.

Webbo Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Oh ffs Danny was clearly joking, wind your necks will you all?
Houdini Logic Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 You want to get onto some of the players and see if they want to buy any work - young, stupid, egotistical and too much money, pretty much the perfect target audience
Phube Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Have to agree with DB11 I'm afraid... Not a 'proper' subject, as it is all too subjective...
Captain... Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Hopefully this will work http://s1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc464/LCFCArt/Leicester%20City%20Art/ You've got some skills there, but for me it is missing something, and without wanting to sound critical because you clearly are a good artist, but they don't really do much for me. The collage effect on the frames makes it look like some the things I used to do when I was about 12 cutting out all the pictures from the mercury and pritt sticking it all together. I really like the Poznan one and the Mills and Ledger ones are also good. I think you are missing a trick though, you could do a lot more with your talent, something that will raise it up from just fan art. You could look at taking your inspiration from the city or the club or it's history. What I think would be more interesting would be to look at the culture that now surrounds the club for example our new owners, there is a lot of fantastic imagery and styles in Thai art and culture that you could incorporate into your work, whether it is the words and symbols that make up the language or the characters that make up Thai folklore. Also from an A-level point of view you will be expected to explore and develop ideas from other styles, find inspiration and incorporate it into your own work. just a few ideas from five minutes on google: Imagine something like this but with Matt Mills wrestling the dragon Or Nigel Pearson sat serenely surrounded by snakes Or convert the King Power Stadium into a thai temple.
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Yes or simply draw pictures of Erickson on toilet paper, it would be rather ironic shit meeting shit. I will be your first customer.
DB11 Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 After reading this for four pages I should probably invoke my right of reply by now... But I've never had a post with so many rep points, so hey For the record, not that it matters, people are entitled to study whatever they wish as there is enough diversity in this world for anyone to succeed in an area that they are passionate in. And if anyone thinks that this is me backtracking, well I studied mathematics, history and IT at A Level where there are exams and you can be right or wrong. Art? Art you create something (maybe under timed conditions equivalent to an exam? But this wasn't the impression I got from the people who I spoke to in my tutor group who took design subjects) but surely in art your grade depends on what your teacher thinks of it, so surely external factors can influence your mark based on your relationship with them, instead of wholly on the piece itself. But that's far too sensible to post on FoxesTalk, who'd react to that? You should also take into context the last thread on education in Gen Chat and how the discussion went on there. Refereeing is for failed footballers Leave the lad alone. Obv. Who'd prefer to be Howard Webb than Cristiano Ronaldo? Yeah but DB11 is a thick, ****ing child. I'm not thick, not at all. I think I'm clever, actually Oh ffs Danny was clearly joking, wind your necks will you all? It took 67 replies for someone to notice! Wait, no, actually it was clear but they saw who wrote it, so jumped on the bandwagon
flowwolf Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Just a suggestion don't give up your day job to be a comedian.
