SantiagoFox Posted 18 November 2011 Posted 18 November 2011 Apparently Wolves and Sunderland fans are to hold a ten minute silence at the start of their game on Sky on Dec 4 as part of a protest against sky-high pricing. My link As someone pointed out on another forum, we sometimes try this for 90 minutes! ( Not me normally). I did do it for a whole half after I was so cheesed off with the general moaning and lack of vocal support at the previous few games. Actually got noticed too as I'm usually quite loud. It will be interesting to see if the Wolves and Sunderland fans manage to keep quiet...
I am Rod Hull Posted 18 November 2011 Posted 18 November 2011 Protest by not going, thats what i do now. £30 for 90 minutes ? They can get fooked. Cap wages at £5k a week, bring the prices down to a tenner and fill the grounds.
Number 6 Posted 18 November 2011 Posted 18 November 2011 This'll make sure their views are heard...oh wait.
Guest Bilo Posted 18 November 2011 Posted 18 November 2011 Couldn't do that at the KP, no fvcker would know the difference.
Jace Posted 18 November 2011 Posted 18 November 2011 I'm sure every fan in football would like to pay less for a match ticket but I'm struggling to see what would be the benefit of their protest? Say for example their clubs takes notice and decides ok lets lower the wage budget and ticket prices to please the fans what would happen then? The team end up unable to compete with other Premiership teams and are unable to bring in new players and then get relegated would they be happy with this?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 November 2011 Posted 18 November 2011 Fair play to them. Unfortunately, and I'm ashamed to say it, after years of slagging the cnuts off, but i am now a Sky customer too. I shouldn't have, I know, but I just enjoy sitting at home on a Sunday when the missis is at work and watching football all afternoon
acooling08 Posted 18 November 2011 Posted 18 November 2011 FIFA or the FA need to do something really. I doubt this will work tbh anyway.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 November 2011 Posted 18 November 2011 FIFA or the FA need to do something really. I doubt this will work tbh anyway. Why would either want to do anything? Both love the new type of fan who come to the games now. They'd rather have a half empty ground, souless atmospheres with happy clappy fans who do as the stewards tell them to.
AndyBrew Posted 18 November 2011 Posted 18 November 2011 You wouldnt bloody notice anything most games on the telly are silent, it won't be long before sky will be dubbing crowd noise onto their broadcasts!
SantiagoFox Posted 18 November 2011 Author Posted 18 November 2011 You wouldnt bloody notice anything most games on the telly are silent, it won't be long before sky will be dubbing crowd noise onto their broadcasts! Wouldn't surprise me !

I live about 30 miles away and if i go with the lad it costs about £80 all in. £80 to see us play Bristol City as fook all to do with a Wembley final.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 I know there are many factors that push prices up, but the ridiculous amount of money players get paid, must surely be at the top of the list. How often have our, or for that matter, other clubs players, have continually under performed? Do they ever think that the supporters, many of whom can only dream of earning what they do, give up so much to support their club, and pay their wages? I wonder how they would feel, if they were watching, and not playing? Supporters should get a square deal, and not be exploited, even by the players themselves!
Jordan Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 Cap wages at £5k a week Are your suggestions intended to save football or kill it?
The Doctor Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 You wanna protest against ticket prices as a fan base? Have a match where the majority don't turn up. The clubs couldn't give a shit what you do in the stands, so long as you pay the ticket prices. Vote with your wallets.
Mack Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 You wouldnt bloody notice anything most games on the telly are silent, it won't be long before sky will be dubbing crowd noise onto their broadcasts! They always only use crowd noise from a mic in he ground that is non offensive. If fans in an area start singing something they consider offensive they turn the mic off.
Unit Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 This doesn't work, Cov have been doing it for years.
purpleronnie Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 we're not very good at protesting are we?
